Expanded California during the gold rush, things like that is what I meant with the West. Protecting people from thug gold rush organizations and the such.

They also protected Indians from other Indian tribes and even American citizens.

That could of possibly made them be hated by those they protected as well.

this summer is rather unusual...i usually read a whole bunch of books but the last thing i read was the Tim Burton autobiography back in June =/

So the last full book I read, I can't even remember it, it was last year. One month without a read isn't that bad, just find something you would like to read, not for the sake of reading.

it doesnt take me that long to find something id be willing to read. it's more of im not in a reading mood i guess.

wow, so it's not just me. the last book i read after a few months break from books was Time Storm.for some reason it took me forever to read, and i'm a fast reader...

oh, wait, NOW i remember! what happened was that i read a page, someone distracted me, and i read the same page over. it happened during the entire book.

I hate when that happens. Hmmmm it seems like I read this page...I think.

ugh i hate it when people do that to me. my friend's friend was in my health class once and she would talk to me non stop while i was reading @_@.

Ok this isn't really a story, it's a historical book, but holy crap I have to get it! And show it to you all!

You know that book I said I found for $200 and that one I found about the Infantry Unit I portray from the Eve of the Civil War, not actually the Civil War? Well it gets better I found a book starting from the late 1700's when they were formed up until the early 1900's. They are still in commission, it just doesn't go that far. If I find a second edition from 1920's to present I'll be a happy camper.

It mainly talks about the soldier life though, not the battles or what they did. But it's still good. It has really nice illustrations of them and their uniforms during the set periods and even pictures!

And it's only $13!

why am i feeling a sense of de ja vu with this conversation?

i read "The Hunting of the Snark" yesterday by Lewis Carroll. it was very strange...and then i started reading the Secret of Nimh but i cant really get into it.

Isn't that about a bunch of mice and a sick rat?

kind of sort of. it's about a couple of mice, the rats of Nimh, and one sick (as in, sick in the head) rat named Jenna.

I remember reading a book, but I don't know if it's the one you're referring to.

All I remember was there was a rat or mouse, don't know which who was sick. Really sick like dying and needed medicine or something...I didn't really care for the book all to much. Probably since I read it in school and had to do so much homework and projects just for each chapter.

yeah that's it. Timothy is the one that's sick. ive watched the movie recently and dozens of times which is why i cant get into this. i love the movie so reading the book just isnt doing it for me.

Yeah I read the book, but after we finished we watched the movie and I couldn't get into the film lol. I think it was completely different and must've been the reason. I kept on thinking things like that didn't happen or it went that way. Correct me if I'm wrong but were the two different.

Aside from the sick mouse I also remember a crow who liked shiny things.

i guess they are different. im only like page 14 of the book so it's not too different. i might just skip to the good part if this keeps dragging out XD

^ no just cause i wanted to. i was curious as to what happened in the book. i mean, i really like the way it's written. it's just i love the movie so much, it's hard to read it.

I just finished Son of a Witch. It was almost as good as Wicked, but not quite.

I just finished Code Geass: Volume One.

Only 20 more to go.

And I have Nightmare of Nunnally lined up to read.

Yeah, that makes me sound so much sicker than I actually am...

Mainly because she pilots a Knightmare while totally naked.
