Re: Literature!!!
^ oh yeah i know that. i actually looked at the inside of it and it also tells you the history of animation or something. ive been reading "The Art of Animation" which kind of talks about similar topics but I don't think I fully understand it. XD.

Re: Literature!!!
I LOVE Little Nemo. The nightmare stuff used the scare the crap out of me as a kid XD.
....
yeah....
but yeah I heard about the dinosaur. I meant I don't really get how they used to actually animate. They talk about the techniques Disney created but I don't get it. I guess it's one of those things where I need a picture or a video so I get what they're saying.

Re: Literature!!!
They kept a few small pieces of paper, before the letterhead was really standard. Then after a few frames they would use a camera to take the shots...that's why it's often shaky.

Re: Literature!!!
For what animation? Do you have a link? I can't really make assumptions without seeing the process or materials.

Re: Literature!!!
The Survival Kit? Well they should let you know that if it's as great as they say it is.
I'll have to find an image or video of that since I never really watched Snow White.

Re: Literature!!!
No, I read it in "The Art of Animation: From Mickey Mouse to Beauty and the Beast". If the survival kit has a better explanation then I might get it since I didn't understand the concept in The Art of Animation.
I would say to watch Snow White only because it changed the way we perceive animation. Otherwise, it's an okay movie. Not my favorite Disney film to be honest. Though I did find that section of The Art of Animation to be interesting. And I think it's funny that Hitler drew fanart for that movie XD.

Re: Literature!!!
The only thing Snow White did was become the first feature length animation, before then most were short animations, only a few minutes or so. Walt made sure that it was perfected as best as could be and used rotoscoping.

Re: Literature!!!
i consider that to be kind of important and ultimately changing the way we perceive animation since we used to see them as just gag shorts but then we saw we could use animation to create more in depth stories.

Re: Literature!!!
Well before that time, people couldn't understand that Little Nemo was animated with still frame drawings. They thought it was a live video film, you gotta be pretty stupid to not notice that these people in the film were not that realistic.

When I said Little Nemo, I was talking about the 1993 version. so now, upon realizing that there are two Little Nemo films, I have no idea what you are talking about XD. I haven't seen the other film.

Re: Literature!!!
LS the person who made the first Little Nemo did so in 1920...before animation was even heard of.

Re: Literature!!!
Oh I had no idea that thing existed, the animation is pretty good and it's kinda surprising that someone considered making an anime out of the first animation.

Re: Literature!!!
yeah Studio Ghilbi made the film I believe...I think it was more of an American/Japanese collaboration. Sort of like what they did with The Last Unicorn. Though I don't know, don't quote me on that.
I just remember being afraid of the movie as a kid so I re-watched it a couple of years ago and now I love the movie XD. The Nightmare King reminds me of Chernabog from Fantasia...

Re: Literature!!!
So I don't know if I said this, but in my school's library, at the last floor I think it's the sixth or seventh floor...Anyways I found a shelf of books that were really old and musty. The pages were so brittle just bending it a little made it crack.
I found a few samples of information in each book about the unit I portray in the Civil War! Of every modern book I read, I can hardly ever find anything about them. Maybe a sentence which states something pointless like "So and so unit had 40,000 men" While they would go and explain in painstaking detail about another company. It kinda pissed me off.
Well I found a lot of information although none of it was during the Civil War...in fact it was better! I found information about them from before from 1814ish-1859, right before the war. A lot of it explained about their times in the West when they were under garrison duty. Yup...it was pretty cool.

Re: Literature!!!
^ wow that is pretty cool. i dont think its possible to find a neat find like that in my library...then again, i really dont know my way around the school very well.
like, ive been going to the library all the time (nearly all year during my off-time) and i JUST learned that there are bathrooms in the library...and that all the books ive been looking for are on a different floor from the one ive been looking for them ....yeah....
but anyway, im glad you found those books =D.

Well you just have to venture out of your boundaries LS. That's how a lot of discoveries are made.

Re: Literature!!!
it was mostly the call numbers on the books confused me. like, they have the standard number for the first floor but if it's a "big book" it has the number as though it were on the first floor but it's really on the fourth floor. which is REALLY confusing. so when you on the first floor the book shelf might look like this in terms of call numbers:
1, 2, 6, 10
and then the missing numbers would be on the fourth floor O-o.
