Re: Video Games
It has really came a long way from where it began, nice work! Not that you have to add this part, but when I was reading the part where the group goes to find the last piece (where Chernabog lives) I thought he was going to emerge and use Oswald or Mickey as bait to get the rest of the pieces. You know like I'll kill him or something if you don't give me the stuff.
Nice story!

Re: Video Games
thanks! i really appreciate you looking over it!
they already did the life threatening thing in the last game actually so i didnt want to repeat it :) but maybe i can come up with some alternative that would work.

Re: Video Games
Oh I see. Well I never finished the game, so I didn't know. Maybe you could work a way how Chernabog uses his skills and trickery to get the stuff he needs. He seems to be the type that it would fit well with.

Re: Video Games
yeah, im not sure if i should make him cunning at the end or just so badass he just takes what he wants. because he can do that with ease and scare the crap out of whoever's there =p.

Re: Video Games
I think trickery, but with a tone of badass is more effective then just upright popping out and stealing stuff.

Re: Video Games
like, the sky goes dark, the ground shakes and fiery pits of hell start to rise up? oh and he starts to eat his demons like he does in the sequence.

Re: Video Games
Biting off the heads of his minions? If he has that much power and appearance, there needs to be a stronger reason why he doesn't or cant collect all the stuff himself.

Re: Video Games
yeah he does really scary stuff in the sequence. but he doesnt move from his spot. it's like, he is the mountain and becomes Satan at night and then turns back into the mountain when the church bells and singing start.
that's what happens in the movie anyway =p. i dont know why he stays in the one spot in the movie.

Re: Video Games
Maybe you should try to research that a little more and if they don't give a reason make one up. I can't think of anything at the moment, but if I do, I'll post it here.

Re: Video Games
ill look into it. i dont think they ever give a reason. i can also look into the folklore of Chernabog and see if i see something.

Re: Video Games
Well it sounds like he's some kind of folklore from religion, mostly I'm thinking christianity or catholicism. Maybe you could have it that his resting place is surrounded by a moat of holy water lol.

Re: Video Games
Well I would at least make some cliche magic barrier seal or something to keep him locked there.

Re: Video Games
Oh wait does Yen Sin actually do that? I read about him in your story, but I don't know who he actually is. I'll get back to you after a Google search.

Re: Video Games
no, but i can make him do that lol.
Yen Sid is the sorcerer in another part of Fantasia called 'The Sorcerer's Apprentice'. he's the guy that Mickey steals the hat from in that sequence. but i can totally have him create a magical barrier since Yen Sid created the Wasteland in the first place.

Re: Video Games
Maybe Chernabog is his evil parts of his imagination (if he created Wasteland). You know like the evil thoughts, because everyone has them...

Re: Video Games
that would be really cool. i must add that.
meanwhile, and this is kind of random, i read in another Disney book where the author of the book feels as though the Night on Bald Mountain sequence lacks emotion or something...i forgot the exact words but i just thought it was interesting. but weird at the same time because i always thought that part of the movie had so much emotion that it scared me as a kid. seriously, i was terrified of Chernabog.

Well the author and artist in everyone will always be the harshest critic.

Re: Video Games
^ true but i always thought that sequence had some of the biggest emotion and was one of the best sequences of the film. it was just interesting but weird to see such a drastically different opinion. especially since people that i talk to and things i read pretty much have the same opinion as i do. i just wish the author went into more detail as to WHY it was unsatisfying. he just says it is but doesn't explain why...it would have been more interesting with the reasoning behind it. thats why i think it was kind of weird. it almost seemed an out of the blue statement.
