A Heads Up

I'm trying to mimic AS forum's design, without exactly making it an exact duplicate.

right. i gotcha. which is what i would have said but i didnt know how you would feel if i told you to just copy them XD

Plus it would be so much easier if I could just somehow copy their exact color. Because part of the trouble is pinpointing where exactly it lays in a palette.

I like this layout better so far. now we just need the Oasis picture :D

For now the moving one will have to do, on account that I'm too tired to go open my laptop just to make it stationary. Took way too long to get it animated and uploaded online as it is, so it deserves a some time.

Not so sure if I'm that wild about this forum layout. I guess I'll wait and see. Not sure though, I'll wait to see what you have to say, but I think I might revert things once I get back from work or a little after.

I actually think I found a better layout that I can use. I'll wait to you're online though, so that I can switch it and you can see both right away and judged which you like better.

Oh well the images I worked on won't really work or whatever. Doesn't matter I can still add them somewhere in the forum like hotlinking images that way if people use them anywhere, we'll be advertising as well.

I agree. I dont like the background beige (not the gritty one) and the colors for posting. I think, if memory serves me correctly, I liked the other layout better.

It was worth a shot though. I can always revert them easily (now that I know how to) It's got a cool desert like theme going on, but it just doesn't quite scream us or our forum.

Just because it's an Oasis image or that we thought about the Oasis them doesn't mean we need to go strictly by what was shown in the show. We could probably go back to the blues we had and work with that for the Oasis.

Like for example in N64 Zelda had a landmark called Zora's Domain, where these weird fish like people lived. It looked like a oasis, but wasn't quite one. Here, I'll show you a clip.

See our blues could work with that if you think about it. We wouldn't be creating a Zelda theme, but it could work for our oasis image. I could change the gif's colors to work with it also.

Then there's also the Spirit Oasis, that I just remembered. Remember that small oasis thing in the Northern Water Tribe that Aang meditated in during the last episodes before being captured by Zuko? I'd have to look at more screenshots from it, but we could probably try leaning in that direction.

That is if we still want to try the oasis theme and image or just can it and find another name for our forum.

Oh yeah....duh...I feel so stupid now. That's probably the Oasis we were thinking of from the beginning XD

Do you like this better then the desert theme and also more then the blue theme we had before trying out the desert theme?

Yes. but as i said, im a fan of blue.

I don't care anymore. I like it. I'll see if we get any members or more guests. Trying to cater to the guests/possible new members is a pain in the ass when I don't know what direction to go with the forum. And it's not like anyone really gives me any feedback besides you, which I appreciate.

I've tried posting several forums everywhere I frequent and don't, asking for advice and whatnot, but people are just too lazy. Besides this forum has a nice holiday appeal to it. I don't know if it'll keep that appeal once the holidays are over, but it can stay for now.

...Maybe I can look for some snow background animation! That would be badass!

You also have to figure that with graphic design, a lot of people are incapable of telling you what they like and don't like about the design because the design is meant to target the subconscious rather than conscious. It's hard to say what exactly about the design grabs your attention when you have no practice analyzing it.

I know what I like and don't like. That's easy enough as it is. I knew I didn't like editing that brown theme from the start, but I just wanted to see if you or others took a liking to it.

Do you like it? I realize it's hard to see it once it reaches the white of the forum, but I think that's for the best. You don't want all the snow being seen to the bottom or it might clutter and ruin your navigation.
