Oh, I'm sorry to hear about that. How much are you lacking? It is Summer, you could try to see if anyone has things they need done.

It costs a lot of money to get over there. I don't think I'd be able to raise the money in time no matter how much work I did. But luckily:

-My animation professor is going to team up with some other dude (who I think is a professor) to try and get the school to help pay for my trip.

-My dad chipped in some money. I just feel crappy whenever I get money or anything from him cause I don't really like him so it feels weird. I have to do some work for him as compensation (which I don't mind and it actually makes me feel slightly better). I haven't gotten that work yet.

-I'm praying I got a job at the movie theater for the summer. Even if I don't go to SIGGRAPH, I still really want this job so I have some work I can do to gather funds to start paying off my loan. Cause I won't be able to pay off my loan when I do the DCP. the DCP is pretty much just going to cover my living expenses with maybe some money left over. So yeah...hoping I get that.

I can't rely on my current job at all for anything unfortunately. I've been given hardly any work and when I started talking about my ideas for some reels he wants me to edit, I can already see this probably isn't going to work out. Despite the fact I backed up the basic principle of my idea based off of what I researched and what my professors told me to do for my own reel.

So basically, all hope is not lost. And if SIGGRAPH doesn't happen, my professor said he'd hook me up with a meeting with the writers of Wreck It Ralph when I got to the DCP. Probably cause I didn't shut the hell up about it last semester :p

Just do your best and work off the loans that people have given you. Don't beat yourself up about it however, if things don't pan out. So your current job, are you not getting enough hours?

I barely get any hours with this job. And I can't look for a full-time job because of the DCP. At least, not one where they'll be looking for someone to work a while. It has to be only for the summer.

Also, it's the school loans I'm worried about. I also still have to figure out what repayment plan I'm going to do because I don't know if the DCP still counts as me being in college....

Like I legit get maybe 9 hours every three weeks if I'm lucky. It's terrible. And last summer I got NO hours. So I'm really hoping this movie theater thing works out because I can easily do the movies and my current job at the same time.

You won't really be getting a full time job, if you're looking in places like retail/the theater. Not in the very beginning, at least. Not unless you have some kind of experience they need, like being a manager somewhere else.

Yeah but it will be more/better than working no hours as I'm currently working.

I'm not saying not to try, but to not expect full time with benefits or anything of that nature.

And now you just said you didn't say anything about me getting a job which has led me to believe you didn't understand what I was saying in my last post so I'm going to explain my logic in this post and why I posted what I did.

I got that you're doing it for the money/paying the bills, which is great. Sorry if I upset you, I just thought I read somewhere that you were expecting a full time position. So when I found out it was at a movie theater, I wanted to warn you ahead of time.

And yeah, I did mention a full time job. But I said I couldn't get one because of the Disney College Program ;) Or, if I did, they would have to know that I can only work in the summer. Which let's face it, that's unlikely to happen.

Just do your best! And if you have a resume, BS your experience.

For example, garbage men are now called sanitation engineers...so yeah.

Edit: Also One Piece is airing on Cartoon Network's Toonami section, around 12 am on Saturdays now. You can just record it (because they started up on Season 4's section.

I'd highly suggest recording and tuning in because I really liked this season. It's really good.

When I ever get back to One Piece, I'm going to start where I left off. I don't remember the season but it was the place in the clouds or whatever.

Well you could always do it that way to. I just thought it was another convenient way of tuning into One Piece, without actually having to tune in at midnight.

Unfortunately, I've become a 'hey I'm going to watch 5 episodes in a row if the show's been out for a while' type of person :P

That and I don't think I have a VCR recorder anymore.

With Cablevision you get certain shows on demand for free after they've aired but that's only certain shows and it usually comes out like the day before the next episode airs.

I also took someone's Netflix account. Or rather, we're sharing it. But I don't think One Piece is on it. Last I checked it wasn't anyway.

Oh well yeah, you probably should pick up where you left off.
