it might look nice to have the colors match that image. but i dont know how you would go about doing that.

I could either work with the forum's layout or recolor the image with the forum layout's colors. I'll get to that later though, school comes first.

How do you think a gritty background texture would look? On account that that's what the oasis is on top of?

Right, but do you think it would look interesting? It wouldn't be the entire site, just the background. Like the two borders at the opposite ends.

Well this forum needs more vibrant colors. Not vibrant colors that will kill and bleed my eyes, but they still seem a little too dull for my taste? I don't know about you though, what are your thoughts? You never gave me your feedback.

Yes I know you think blue colors are pretty, but this palette never struck me as blue, but more as a grayish mixture.

Edit: Seeing the new Korra opening sequence, I think the blue colors might be fitting. But we need to work on them more. And after seeing it, I don't know how to design our forum agh!

I worked long and hard on a few different ideas (after tons of school work of course), but am not sure how to implement them into our forum. I tried changing the colors a bit, but it just looked worst each time I tried, so I reverted it...

Anyway here was a banner idea I created for Avatar Oasis.





I can still add them in this forum layout, but either one just looks oddly smacked into it.

i like that but i think it might be better to not have the image moving.

I could not make it move, but I figured it would add to the atmosphere to have it be like waves in the oasis. Still the problem we face is that forum's colors clash with it.

And you haven't given me your opinion of the current forum's color palette. Are you trying to avoid it lol? Look I don't care if you hate it, just tell me. I feel that at times the color's are underwhelming and not keeping my eyes as alert, but I want to hear from you.

I wish I could hear from others, but you're the only one who comes here anymore really.

if you're going to use this image, i would change the palette to more tanish colors. because with this image, i think it will clash.

Well forget the image for now, because I'm not sure if it might even work. I was mainly asking about our current colors. How do you feel about them? Because like I said at times they seem a bit too bland for my tastes.

currently, the website looks too professional in my opinion. so i guess you could say the palette is bland.

It's so freaking hard to get this forum just right, on account of the way they have everything placed up for you to edit. And not only that but I can waste a good hour or more on a day and still come out unsure.

yes, its annoying editing profiles, websites, whatever. especially if you have no idea what you're doing like me XD

It doesn't help that I don't have a clear idea where I should head with our site. And when I do think of something, it never turns out quite like I pictured it would.

So if you don't mind, if you have any ideas where we should head or what colors we should use, speak here or forever hold your peace. (Pst please speak :P)

i like the entire color palette that they use.

So what about these browns for the complete background? Don't worry about the blue pieces yet, I'm still screwing with them.

lol LS I can only do solid colors. I can't paste actual images or effects on.

Alright, this is like the only part I can get it to work with, I used a small slice of the Oasis Maps gritty texture.

I can't make the lighter beige inside the forum gritty though. Although that might be a little too much. So do you like the grittiness and the beige part?

i think its too early to say with the blue in the way. all i can say is i like the gritty background.

ummm...maybe make the center beige color slightly more....yellow? lol. i dont know what color it should be.
