Re: Avatar Graphic Novels
Two more months until we find out more about this comic series! You might not like it that much, but I'm actually liking it. The story is pretty good and so is the art, hopefully The Duke makes an appearance somewhere.
Either that or in Korra, I can live with either. Or both.

^ I said I have issues with it so far. I'm not going to fully judge it and dread the next one until the entire Promise is out ;)

Re: Avatar Graphic Novels

Re: Avatar Graphic Novels
I don't know if we need Iroh in the comic, unless he has some reason to be in it. Just because would be stupid on account of how short the first one was. What I want to know about Iroh though that was never answered was how he went into the spirit world and what he did there.

Re: Avatar Graphic Novels
I just remembered it when Zhao mentions it during the Siege episodes. Seriously you can't expect people to not want to know more if you mention it so vaguely in the series. That's just stupid if you ask me. Just like Zuko's mother, but that's even stupider.

Re: Avatar Graphic Novels
^ exactly, i completely agree.
i can understand if a show gets canceled and then they have no time to explain it. but they had the entire series to their liking: they could have explained it.
LOST does this as well which was why a good number of fans were pissed when it ended.

They don't necessarily have to animate or illustrate it, so long as a few more words giving clarity were given.

Re: Avatar Graphic Novels
right.
i mean, based on what was said, i would imagine Iroh went to the Spirit World to try and get his son back. similar to how Orpheus tried to get Eurydice back from the Underworld.
it'd be really sad if Iroh did the same thing Orpheus did and totally screwed everything up.

Re: Avatar Graphic Novels
That's what I thought, minus the trying to get him back part. In season 2 he teaches Zuko about lightning. He explains that he had the time to learn from the water tribe, so I just stuck the two together that he went to the same place where Aang meditated to try to calm his mind.

Re: Avatar Graphic Novels
i mean, i can't think of any other reason why he would go to the Spirit World and it seemed to me as though he went after Lu Ten died.

Re: Avatar Graphic Novels
Right, but I think he did it more for himself. So that he could clear his weary mind from the war and everything that clouded it. We don't even know if the spirit world is meant for people who die. So far we only know its where spirits and the Avatars live.

Re: Avatar Graphic Novels
then where do the people who die go? i mean, since the whole show is based on spirituality, i would think they go somewhere....
^ that should be a question someone asks. when comic con comes around, ill find someone to ask since i cant go on the day they'll probably be there.

Re: Avatar Graphic Novels
We might learn something about that in Korra because if Amon's duty is to rid the world of bending he would have to somehow involve the Spirit World, like how Zhao did with the coy fish.

Re: Avatar Graphic Novels
unless he's a man of science and scientifically figured out a way to do it. and then fails because he realizes that science isn't the answer. and this would also fit perfectly with the idea that Korra has problems with her spirituality and that's what she needs to defeat Amon.
guys! i think i just figured out the conflict of Korra! :p

Re: Avatar Graphic Novels
Wasn't it already explained in the first trailer that she had problems honing in the spirtualness? The sages even said that during her fire bending sparing match.

Re: Avatar Graphic Novels
^ i know. im saying that this could Amon's problem as well, not understanding the spirituality component. or, taking the spirituality component with a scientific lens. which would mean Korra would have to come to this understanding in order to defeat Amon.
