Post  Starflight Sun Nov 18, 2012 12:11 am

(Well, my greetings to all on this lovely site! I am new here, but not new to role playing. Over time I have greatly learned that ever website of this nature has a different style of role playing, and a different style of role playing plots, stories, ect, ect, ect. I thought it would be great for us to interact with all of our beloved characters from TLOK, hence the brain baby which is now this post. Please, if I am doing anything that is not prohibited, or not how you guys "do things", or simply if I am being obnoxious ;), then please inform me so I can correct the situation. Cabbage Love )

Welcome to Republic city. This role play begins not to long before Korra arrives, only a week or so, the Equalists are growing in strength, and number. Pro-bending is as amazing as ever, and I have still not learned how to write a correct summary. *cough cough* If any of you wish to be Korra, or any of the other characters, then go on ahead, though Amon is MINE! Avatar Aang Combustion Man hehe. Apologies.... Anyhow, may the bending, and role playing, commence!!!!

Character sheets most be presented as so:

Well, well, well, well, look what we have here boys. Entertainment". The man said, his voice deep and husky as it rolled from his fat, half-drunken tongue. He stood approximately six feet, nine inches tall, his body large, though not robust, nor muscular. His lips were thick and pink, his nose leaning towards the left in a clear past break. His fiery hazel eyes gleamed with self indulgence, though glazed over with the alcohol now coursing through his veins. His tongue flickered out from the corner of his lips, stretching to lick the skin around them. The clothing which decorated his body was of high quality, a flaming crimson entwined with ribbons of golden yellow, the fire nation symbol shun proudly at his barrel chest. He now turned, a sly grin plastered upon his shaven face. The other four men around him were similar in stature, though not as large, but portraying the same fire nation attire. She narrowed her eyes, her slim frame held with perfect posture, her gloved hands at her sides. She slightly tilted her head to the left in an almost curious gaze, her hair joining the position as gravity took its hold on her silky locks, the fabric covering her mouth and part of her nose creating an aura of mystery around her body. "Gentlemen, I will say this one more time, leave the child alone or this situation will not end in your favor". Her voice rang out, cool and intelligent, influential, and not menacing though it contained something of a warning. The man who was clearly in charge now was fully turned towards her, further revealing the small boy in the corner shuddering, his bright eyes gleaming with terror and surprise, the rags that covered his body hanging loosely on his thin frame. The man's grin turned quickly into a fierce scowl. "Listen, pretty, why don't you just mind your own business, or we will teach you how to have some...respect". Underneath the fabric the corner of her mouth held a shadow of a smile. "Respect for what? A drunken fool and his lackeys? I think not". The man's scowl deepened, her lips curled in rage. "That's it, you apparently DO need to learn some RESPECT!" He spat. Simultaneously, then face's of his companions erupted in chilling smiles, and as if by silent command, they stepped forward, already in attack positions.

The leader made a fist with one hand, pounding it into his open palm as to simulate what he planned for her. She kept her non-defensive stance, perfectly still. The men furrowed their brows, wondering why she remained silent. A tall man, lean in his body, his arms lanky though with thin muscles throughout his appendages, suddenly jumped into the air, a mere three feet, he kicked his legs into the wind, as if to strike nothing, but from his pointed foot came a furious blast of fire, the flames shooting and curling through the air as angry wave of heat. It shot straight towards her still form, and then it hit nothing. She herself had leapt into the air, jumping over the fire blast, flipping forward through the flames themselves. The man had already landed with the twist of his body. "Alright then, if that is how you want to do it", she said softly, a slight smirk on her face. The other men now went forward, a short man with a thick body punched several times, his large fists erupting in flames as balls of fire tendrils swooped in her direction. She spun to the right, ducking with incredible swiftness the orbs now flew to a man behind her, and he was thrown back in surprise. The man who had attacked first charged forward, once again leaping into the air his feet shoot a twirl of fire as he spun, seeming to defy gravity as he flipped backwards once more landing smoothly on his feet. She did a cartwheel to the side, her cloak flowing behind her as she rolled underneath the blast. She instantly came up from the miraculous dodge, spinning her leg forward while on the ground, her left arm lightly holding her stance, she swept the legs from underneath the man who had sent the blow. He fell to the ground with a thud, she spun herself upwards. "My turn". She said, a slight humor in her tone.

Another man came from behind, she turned around with a stunning grace, her left, gloved hand open, fingers splayed in the air. The man stopped where he was, frozen in place. A thin line of drool ran down his chin as he stood there, utterly and absolutely motionless. The short, robust man came with a countering attack, but she shot forward, her arms stretched behind her in a V formation. She jumped upwards as she spun around, just as his hands glowed with the upcoming flame she swung her leg, kicking him square in the chest. He began his dissent backwards, but she once more spun her arms, catching his tunic she shot our her fingers, striking many points along his body with frightening speed and grace. His eyes widened in shock, his mouth hung open as he fell to the ground, his body eerily stiff and unmoving. Now, the leader. He had watched, his eyes unable to hide his shear amazement, wonder, fascination, confusion, and mostly.....fear. He looked around, his mouth hanging in a gaping expression, as if unsure what to do. Her hands and arms were still in the position they had been when she had struck the man, her legs bent to send more strength to her upper body. She immediately straightened her posture, her arms now crossing over her chest. Her mind felt expansion as it stretched, her pupils dilated and her heart rate quickened, though she took in no breathes. She strained her mind, now engulfing the presence of her opponents mental entity. "You and your companions were engaged within a bar fight. You will not remember anything, as you have not seen nor heard anything. You will never speak of what has occurred". Her voice seemed to become one with the air, flowing in the light breeze, the expression unreadable, yet powerful, and influential. The man nodded dumbly, his eyes glazing over as his pupils dilated. She raised her eyebrow, the man turned on his heel, and sluggishly began to walk in the opposite direction. She was now walking smoothly to the child in the corner, who held a face of unbelief. He stuttered, unable to speak. She knelt down beside him, the fabric over her mouth gently falling around her neck. "It's alright, your okay now. I am sure that you could have handled them yourself, sorry for butting in". She said, hoping to lighten to mood of the small boy. He didn't smile, but he relaxed, remaining silent. She put her hand on his shoulder, he didn't even flinch, but he actually relaxed even more, her face not tensing in fear."Hey, it is alright". His eyes now displayed the emotion of comfort. "You can keep it, but my advice is, when taking things from the fire nation, you must have a mind as swift as your fingers, and vice versa". She winked, he nodded with a small smile. She caught a glance of the red bag clutched in his thin fingers, bulging with coins. "Now, you better get to your siblings, they will be quiet worried at your absence". He nodded again, she stood up, he did the same. "T-T-Thank you." She did not have a chance to reply, as he turned around and began sprinting on his thin limbs, an excited smile over his face as his arms swung happily to his sides, the bag creating the sounds of clanging metal within its thick velvet.

OOC: Greetings, welcome to our small, but friendly forum! We welcome all warmly, so you'll fit in just fine!

I brushed over some of your bio and sample RP style, and it's pretty good! I would had read the whole thing, but I have a lot of chores to get done today, which I need to start really soon. I will read the rest later today, fear not.

There is no real guideline/style for how any RP created here works. I suppose there is, but it's minimal. You're the creator of this RP, so the style, guidelines, rules, and so forth are pretty much yours to create.

Although I would suggest spacing your post, because it's really hard to read large amounts of clumped text.

Okay, so I started reading it but am a little confused as to how you want to start the RP. Do you want to approve of our characters first or can we just make one and then jump right in?

Oh no! Just jump on in! Apologies if it was unclear, I am used to just having people jump in, no approvals or anything. You go how the wind flows, or, er, water, or...Earth, or..fire, I suppose. Does this site use character approvals generally? If so, then must I privately message the thread starter were I to join a role play? Or does it depend on the role play thread, and the person who started it?

No this is fine, we have some RPs here that use approvals. Some do, some don't. It depends on how complex the story is/becomes.

The Legend of Korra: Darkness Rising Empty Re: The Legend of Korra: Darkness Rising

Post  Starflight Wed Nov 21, 2012 9:10 pm

thought I'd post another edition, to pass the time by :)

She now turned to face the frozen form of her opponents. What am I going to do with them? She shut her eyes in thought for a moment. "No, I have already abused my ability. They will not remember anything, they had been intoxicated, as well as most likely having sustained concussions from being taken by gravity during their decent...downwards" It is wrong to take advantage of defeated men, then I would be no better then them. She said softly to herself, though she kept her last words in her own mind. She lightly grasped the cloth which now lay around her neck, pulling it upwards so that it returned to its place covering her mouth. She looked up from the corner of her pupil, glancing at the darkness above her. The moon lay hidden behind a large cloud, a shield of shadow keeping its vibrancy hidden underneath its thick blanket. A small sigh escaped her lips. The men had created much noise, though she herself had kept her movements utterly silent, their voices had surely reached the curious ears of nearby villagers. As if by some ironic call of her thoughts, she could sense the minds of others mere seconds from her position, and the whispered, curious voices of concerned bystanders. Without hesitation, in one swift, elegant movement she spun herself backwards, her feet lifting a foot from the ground. She silently landed in the shadow of a tree, her feet creating no sound as it made contact with the ground. With a small turn of her head she glanced backwards, glimpsing several people gathering around those firebenders. Now facing forward, she walked directly to her front, her walking posture almost feline in its silence and grace as trees disappeared behind her. She closed her eyes as she walked, still perfectly dodging any approaching branches or rocks scattered amongst the ground. She saw the layout of the trees through her mind, ringing with blue lights of energy through their calm life sources. Curse my impatience in this matter. She thought as excited expectations ran through her unwillingly hopeful mind. She continued walking. She looked upwards, ever so slightly opening the bottom of her eyes so she could catch a glance of the black tree branched from beneath her lashes.

After some more time of walking, approximately seventeen minutes and forty-two seconds, she came to a clearing. Opening her eyes as the last of the trees leading to the community where left behind her, she could not help but allow a small smile to appear on her hidden lips. She shook her head in a small movement, the cloth once again gently falling on her body. "Acumen"? She inquired to her companion, as he watched her intently. "I am glad to see you back, you took longer then I suspected. Was there....trouble"? The deep voice rang through her mind, the warmth of the familiar sensation spreading through not just her consciousness, but also her entire body. The voice was tired, though powerful, with hints of an easily annoyed tone. She shook her head, replying in the same manner as he had spoken to her, in his mind. "I came across a group of fire nation men preparing to harm a small child. Naturally, I could not allow them to continue". Her friend raised a shaggy black brow, then nodded in understanding. Even sitting he was much larger then herself, at his full height, from foot to head, he stood exactly seven feet tall. His face was beautifully curved, a deep gray streaked with white and silver, his eyes such a pale blue they were almost white, though at the very center was a striking black, the same color which outlined the eyes themselves. The black curled down his large, feline nose, into sharp, swirling patterns of the dark color. His mane was both beautiful and intimidating, a large swarm of black fur, though hinted with the same streaks of white and silver which decorated his under fur. The rest of his bodies fur was the same as his face, with the same intricate designs of gray, black, silver and white. His paws were black, though lining against his arms and legs were smooth black feather, that when hit with the light showed a glimmer of a dark blue. His tale was also incredibly unique, as he had two of them, and instead of the black puff of fur that should be at their tips, there was a stunning fan of feathers that at the moment were kept together in a fairly tight holding. But the most incredible thing about her companion's appearance was the great wings that sat folded on his back. Their feathers were as black as the sky, reflective by their blue hinted tone when struck by a beam. Despite his great and majestic appearance, he also did hold the appearance of an older creature, not ancient, though not necessarily in his prime ether, as the streaks of whites and silvers were from his old age. He tilted his shaggy head to the left, bowing it down in a small motion as a greeting. He lifted himself up, his wings shuddering a bit as their tips stretched. A deep sound cam from inside his throat, not a purr nor a growl. She nodded, leaning over to grab the large leather bag which lay upon the ground. "Time to go, old friend". "As I had presumed". He shook his head, allowing the locks of shaggy fur to roll down his back. He knelt down, folding his front legs. She walked forward, running her fingers through his fur she swung the bag over her own body, then with a small jump in the air as a swirl of breeze fluttered through her hood, she landed just behind his great wings with her legs held tightly on each side. She need not say a command, as she gave a small nod. Her companion lifted himself up, his wings remaining folded tightly upon his thick back. Then he began to move, the rhythm of his shoulder blades and hind leg joints swaying side to side in powerful motions. In only a couple of pads, her massive paws as silent as her feet when she walked, his back legs arched as he flung himself into the air. She felt a wonderful surge of wind hit her face as his wings lashed from their folded positions. The great blackness of the mass of feathers engulfed her vision, but in moments of his wings beating with powerful strength against gravity, they soared evenly high above the tiny lights of civilization, and the ever so dark whispers of the forest. She stared above her, her neck held back so her eyes could only see the shining beauty of the heavens. The clouds had proceeded in their journey with the wind, revealing the great white moon and the sparkling diamond stars strung through the night sky. Her intense eyes appeared to soften as the bright lights shun in her pupils. A spark of something, light, emotion, flashed through her expression. "We will be there soon, Acumen. We will finally be at Republic City."

Post  Loyal Subject Thu Nov 22, 2012 1:49 pm

Name: Airi
Age: 25
Bending: Yes
Bending Element: Fire (minimal/traditional)
Apparel: A hat (similar to the one Korra wears in episode...3 both in terms of style and color. though, her hat doesn't have a fold to it like Korra's does. and hers also has a faded pink ribbon that goes around it.), long brown coat, faded pink dress underneath.
Gender: Female
Eye Color/Hair Color: Brown eyes, dark brown hair (like Korra's) that goes just past her ears. so it's like medium long.
Occupation: Theater/Silent Film actress (im still not entirely sure if film exists in the Avatar world yet...)

Name: Kenji
Age: 27
Bending: No
Apparel: plain, dark shirt (kind of like the one the Firebender thug wears in the first episode) and slightly darker colored pants.
Gender: Male
Eye Color/Hair Color: Grey eyes, black messy hair.
Occupation: same as Airi's.

Additional Information: Airi and Kenji never leave each others' side unless circumstances force them apart.

"Hey Kenji, if the slipper fit Kongjwi perfectly then why did she lose it in the first place?" Airi asked quizzically as they sat in a restaurant. Her eyes focused on the ceiling as if the ceiling may provide the answer.

"That is an excellent question my dear. One which I have the answer to. It's because the spirits wanted her to find her true love. If she never lost the slipper, she never would have found the king again," Kenji replied simply. His arms folded across his chest as he spoke with complete confidence.

"Oh yeah, that makes sense." Airi took a sip of her mixed ginger ale drink. "But still, you'd think they'd just let her keep her nice clothes passed midnight and save everyone the trouble."

"The spirits work in mysterious ways." Kenji glanced at Airi's drink. The cherry was still on top. There was no need for him to say anything; Airi handed him the cherry. He immediately popped it in his mouth. "But as long as things turn out okay in the end, I'm not going to question it. Right?"

Right
