They're catering to the children of this decade. I don't know how many fans their are around your age. So it could be a hit or miss with them, and they might not like those odds.

^ i was talking about selling it not only to the kids but to the parents that are going with the kids to watch it lol. you know, like Cinderella, Aurora, Snow White, etc.

and the younger kids don't think it's different or interesting that the princess isn't a typical princess. that's mostly for the adults. the kids tend to like the princesses that have the 'princess' quality. look at Mulan and Pocahontas: those are the least popular princesses among kids and the ones with arguably the lesser princess qualities.

Most parent's aren't like us LS. Most adults don't like cartoons, even ones our age. So I doubt catering to adults would help too much.

Also those two weren't actually royalty of any kind, at least I don't think so.

^ by adults, i meant the press as well as parents. the people in the industry so to speak who will be watching it and are keeping up to date with information. and there are a good amount of parents that watch the cartoons with the kids. just look at all the crazy people that waited outside of the mall over night to get the Disney dolls :p most of them just don't like to admit it XD

Pocahontas and Mulan are part of the Disney Princess Franchise. you don't have to be royalty to make it into the franchise apparently and Pocahontas is a princess in the movie anyway. but they get hardly any attention from Disney partially because they aren't as popular with the kids. but they are considered princesses.

the princesses are Belle, Aurora, Cinderella, Snow White, Ariel, Pocahontas, Mulan, Tiana, Rapunzel, Jasmine, and this new character (I don't remember her name) will enter the franchise. Giselle from Enchanted was supposed to be in it but she got booted off because Disney didn't want to pay Amy Adams royalties for using her image :p

Reminds me of Donald Trumps, You're Fired quote. They did a joke on that in American Dad because apparently he paid for the legal rights of owning those two words together. I bet he tried suing The Jetsons for every episode :P

Also my point was mainly regarding some reviews I heard about Rango, because a lot of parents criticized it negatively, because they can't beat that notion that cartoons/animation isn't just for kids. The first animations were for adults and extremely racist, but I guess they don't know that.

Not to mention that Gertie The Dinosaur by Winsor McCay was made to impress his friends, which happened to be rich adults, not kids.

Hey Lee, do you know of any website that specifically has magical-esque sound effects available? ive been searching through the sites i know but i can't find what i want T_T

Not really, I just type in such and such sound and see what comes up. If you find any sounds that aren't downloadable, you can always record them.

right...ill have to keep looking then.

Well like I said if you happen to find sounds you like and can't download, just record. You should have some program on your laptop that has a recording feature. Make sure to keep noise levels down, especially from machines around. They might sound silent, but it picks up almost anything.

yeah i know. i want to avoid using the laptop to record though simply because it will probably pick up the computer fan no matter what.

Is it really loud? Because my macbook can have a noisy fan, but it really doesn't catch that. You should try before you give up on it.

well im not going to automatically give up that option but im going to go by download first. i mean, worst case scenario i was just going to see if i could download clips from Peter Pan (if there's no music in it) and take those sound effects. or some other Disney movie :p

Games also have a sound and song room in them, you can always try recording from those as well. You have quite a few options actually.

right im also thinking about looking into the Zelda games for sound effects.

Put a little bit of water in a wine glass, wet your finger, and circle it around the edges.

nah. i just took Tinkerbell's sound effects and that worked. i did one where it plays normal and then i reversed it. i wanted bells or chimes but most of them were too long where if you cut it off it was too noticeable.

You do know what kind of sound wine glasses make, if you rub your finger around the edges right? It kind of makes a similar sound to the Zelda OoT warps.

yeah but i wanted more of a bell. i was looking for fairy sound effects and i thought of the fairies from Zelda.

The only fairy sound effect is when you find a red fairy. If you've never played OoT or MM you wouldn't know it. I wouldn't really say that it sounds fairylike.

the fairies have sound effects in windwaker.

then again, that would explain why i couldnt find any.

btw my internet connection keeps breaking up.

Well it's sort of like a buzzing sound, but I buy into it just because I see the fairies associated with it.

well either way i found what i wanted so it doesnt really matter :p
