Re: Korra Comic Con Revealed
It's a really brave move to have female lead I'm getting a vibe that Korra is a lot like lightning from FF13. Both had their designs altered and are manly.
I really preferred the early designs of the guys and hope their dynamic is perfect. I wonder if the Chi blockers are similar to Ty lee ? Tophs daughter looks too ...like her grand parents for my liking.
And hey this is my first proper post I guess.

I honestly feel that Katara sometimes held the spotlight with much more impact/meaningfulness then that of Aang or any of the others. Or at least that's what the creators intended on doing with her.
Anyway, female lead character's aren't as unheard/uncommon now as they were before. I'm still waiting to see how they play out her character. With male leads they often have a variety of different personalities, but it seems whenever someone makes a female lead it seems they have to be the In your face type of personality.

Re: Korra Comic Con Revealed
I just noticed Bei Fong as a scar on her face which just made her much more interesting to me. A parallel to zuko oddly enough. It's really odd how she looks so proper maybe toph became lady like in the end?
I doubt she will be a minor character I think she will be a Suki like character in terms of how central to the plot [/justify]she will be.

Re: Korra Comic Con Revealed
Who has a scar? Toph didn't, unless you're referring to her blindness as a scar. And I also don't think her daughter has one either.

I'm not sure if you misunderstood what I said or not. Anyway I know Korra will be the main character, she is the Avatar. I was just saying that it seems that a lot of female leads follow the same personality pattern. It would be unique if they changed that up, but they've already stated she will have that 'In your face' personality. I think they even worded it that way.

Re: Korra Comic Con Revealed
Oh no I understood I just went on a small tangent ( I referred to post where you mentioned Tophs daughter not being very main).
Enlarge the picture she has a scar on her cheek ( I admit I only noticed because of the wikia mentioning it but its their faintly ) http://avatar.wikia.com/wiki/Bei_Fong you can use that link to see it. It's runs along her nose bridge down under her eye along her left cheek, its faint but it's there .
I agree that female antagonists are too masculine ( or in your face) but I guess it's to try and make them cool and avatar being aimed at children and young teens can't play on female gaze like anime can.

Re: Korra Comic Con Revealed
Never noticed the scar before, but being that she is the authority figure I would imagine that would happen sometime during her time. Crooks will do anything to get out of a situation, her scar is proof.
Although even Anime tend to have the female leads in that light often. (When it's supposed to be an action based show)

Re: Korra Comic Con Revealed
I find the scar makes her more interesting ( more so as Zuko's was connected to his whole character).
Sorry Really short reply writing for some classes. No worries about your schedule being busy either I'm in no rush myself.

Right, but I feel bad that you registered right during the busiest part of my school semester. Anyway yeah it would be interesting if her scar was explained in the series, but I doubt it's going to be as meaningful as Zuko's or actually even have any light shed on it.

^ i imagine it's going to be like Gill's scar from Finding Nemo where it gets a brief, subtle explanation.

Re: Korra Comic Con Revealed
that's having trouble remembering their names. it's slightly different :p i have a hard time remembering names especially when it's written rather than visual. like, i only know a lot of the Harry Potter characters because of the movies: i didnt know who was who when i was reading the books lol

So how many characters do you have trouble with in our RP and FF?

Re: Korra Comic Con Revealed
not too many anymore but i had serious issues with Zaraki and Luang. I still don't know who's who. and all of COAL except Risana and Karin. I dont remember who's who in COAL.

Re: Korra Comic Con Revealed
Well in the FF I kind of ripped out a lot of the characters from COAL who just weren't in it enough. Or in the Trial's case just had too many at one time. Most from the trial will still be introduced, but more slowly as not to make it a hectic mess.

As do they for me to. Why do you think I'm literally ripping apart and stitching sections back together? I'm like the surgeon of the FF.

Because you love the RP so much that you're expressing your love by rewriting the mess?

Bzzt wrong answer!
Because the threads and older chapters looked like a twister hit it.

Re: Korra Comic Con Revealed
And because I could hardly understand parts and was like wow, this sucks. The story is great, don't get me wrong, I really like it otherwise I wouldn't be here. It was more of the grammar, spelling, and organization of it.
