Ok! The Great Pirate Captain Lee will tell you how it was!

There I was surrounded by the dreadful Piranha Clan of the Ocean! The Fire Nation knew I was a coming and pleaded for the dreadful biters of the sea to help them.

They of course agreed in return for a lot of gold. It turns out these deadly fish smelt gold to make their razor sharp teeth. Gold was what made them so powerful! Mighty enough to tear a ship in two with just one tooth!

I saw it with my own eyes while I sailed the cold mistress of the rocky ocean. A Fire Nation vessel, a big one at that to, was coming at me full speed! He wanted to sink me before I got to their land. Cause they know I have a army of 8,000 men under my command and I could take them with my hands tied behind my back!

The Piranha clan tore that ship as I heard it screaming it's sheer tearing metal cry. They didn't want anyone to interfere with our battle, not even their allies. It seemed my ship was in danger so I did the only thing I could do.

Oh ok, how can I resist an eager soul like yours?

Well where did we last end? Oh yes the Piranha Clan! Where I last left off they had sunken my enemies ship. I really found it odd why they would do that...but nonetheless they did!

As the ship sunk leaving the sailors and warriors to brave the deadly rocky waves, the evil fish swam furiously towards my ship.

My ship was wood so there was no way it would stand a chance against a round with their teeth. Especially since metal didn't even live to see a second after!

So there I was about to see the watery grave myself. I pulled out my sword and boarded the bottom part of the ship to meet them dead on. They swam and hopped all the while taunting me. But I had one ace up my sleeve that they didn't! I could live off water!

So I jumped into the ocean, swimming to the very bottom. They followed me thinking I was cornered! Another ace up my sleeve! I used my fire bending to super heat the ocean. It boiled them up and then all of the water evaporated. On the bottom of the dry sea, they flopped their last...flops! Unfortunatley I couldn't reach the Fire Nation being that it was now a mountain to scale to get there...so I ate fish for a year as I traveled back to the Earth Kingdom.

Just so you know that story was just a gag from One Piece. One of the character's Ussop is known for lying and making up tall tales.
