Re: Randomness Core
Does the opening closely depict how the anime and episodes are?

Re: Randomness Core
maybe thats why you're not digging Korra yet :p
this is one of the shows that gets referenced all the time by the fans so far. as in, they want Korra to draw from Baccano.

Re: Randomness Core
If that's how Korra turns out, they might as well play that Benny Hill music in the background.

Re: Randomness Core
im by no means saying Korra will be like the characters in Baccano. hell no am i saying that. that would be scary. omg that would just be...no.
im saying the overall tone is what people want, the feel, and the style in many ways. ive seen some similarities in terms of style already.

Re: Randomness Core
Are you suggesting that Mike and Bryan were looking at this series for some influence?

Re: Randomness Core
i wouldnt be surprised if they said they did. they've looked to FLCL, Miyazaki movies, Cowboy Bebop, Naruto, etc.
in between Avatar and Korra (or maybe while Avatar was happening) Baccano! came out and is a critically acclaimed anime. I mean, it gets a lot of praise so i wouldnt be surprised if they've at least seen it and then consciously or unconsciously drew influence from it.

Re: Randomness Core
I know that they said they were influenced by Cowboy Bebop, because of Jet's hair style, and something about the fight between Jet and Aang in season 1 being influenced by some anime, but Naruto?

Re: Randomness Core
I'm pretty sure the tree fight scene between Jet and Aang was influenced by Naruto. I don't remember where I read it though or if I just made it up based on observation.
But they definitely drew influence from Miyazaki and definitely watched FLCL. can't say that they drew direct influence from FLCL since that show is just....crazy. like, I said Baccano! is crazy...that show is just nuts.

Re: Randomness Core
I saw FLCL I think, assuming it's the show with robots that pop out of this kids skull. I didn't know what the **** I was watching. It was on at midnight and I thought I was dreaming most of it.
I think the fight scene with Jet and Aang, especially the part where they leap through the top of the forest one after the other was influenced by Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon.

Re: Randomness Core
^ thats also a possibility.
and yeah that was FLCL. i, thinking this was the most brilliant idea ever, watched FLCL right after studying for my SATs the night before the test. and i knew it was a crazy story and i still did it.
im pretty sure i lost brain cells that night. yet, surprisingly those were my highest SATs scores in the categories that my school counted....hmmm.....

Re: Randomness Core
Unless you want crap quality, I would fork out the extra dollars. If it doesn't matter to you much, then I'd buy this one.

Re: Randomness Core

i was just avoiding etsy because a lot of the sellers only made one and then that was it. or they made a few but didnt say if they were continuing or not. but luckily i found one that does orders in batches of 20 and is still making them. thank god.
