very easily: if you've ever tried to slide down a banister for the first time, it doesnt work out like it does in the cartoons and you don't go very fast.

It's slick and slippery. It's not made out of wood or any rough surface...so it's still dangerous!

yeah but usually when you try to slide down it for the first time, you're hesitant and you realize you can't slide down it like you hoped and it becomes awkward. that's what happened to me anyway. then again, i dont remember if i was on a wooden railing when i tried it.

Wooden railings are normally rougher in texture which would cause friction when sliding down. This results in a slower speed, however if it's something like polished marble, not rough marble or smooth plastic, it's more slippery.

Think about it, if you spray water over smooth stoned/plastic surfaces and a wooden one, which would be more slippery?

i know it would be slippery. im just saying as a reaction a person would most likely slow themselves down as much as possible if they've never done it before.

bend laws as in make it more cartoony as well? i havent posted yet because i honestly can't decide what i want to do yet. even though it's more realistic for Ai to fail at sliding down the railing, i kind of want her to go down it normally....

I didn't say cartoony. Avatar is a prime example on so many parts.

For example during the Day of Black Sun, Hokado was the one leading the invasion force before he was hurt. Instead of just sending Sokka, Katara, and some other reliable soldiers to take out the towers, he went with them. He left the whole invasion force to take out the towers, which in result later we see them in chaos with no solid leaders calling the shots. If you remember when Sokka flies over with Appa to see them, they're closed in due to possibly ineffective commands and whatever.

Had Hokado been a better leader he would had not went to take out the towers and stayed with the main force to ensure they were under control, which he didn't.

Do you understand? In reality the leader wouldn't do such a thing if he was experienced and Hokoda is far experienced.

Spielberg or someone once said that having tactically ineffective maneuvers or situations often adds for an interesting action scene, like drama.

Also keep in mind that Ai is behind Roister since she was the last one to slide down it.

^ i meant cartoony would be added to bending the laws, not the only component. since avatar does have cartoony moments on a more subtle level.

Oh I know, but in shows and movies they make things look more possible and easier then they actually are.
