but i didnt like the Beach either. or rather, i felt like it was way too rushed at the end with character development. i think if they had just given the characters some scenes in previous episodes, it would have worked and they might not have needed the Beach to just be about...the beach lol.

I didn't mind the beach episode that much, it was alright. I didn't hate it though.

i didnt mind it until the ending where everyone confessed their problems. it was like watching degrassi or some other teenage soap opera.

i dont think it would have been so bad if they had shown us the conflicts Ty Lee and Mei were going through before the episode. like, we could have gotten a scene where Ty Lee was with her family or something. but Ty Lee didn't even appear for season 3 until this episode....and Mei we could have seen a scene with her mother.

i thought Zuko and Azula's were done okay but that's because it was shown what their problems were before this episode came. that's what should have happened with Mei and Ty Lee. cause without that, it just looks like a bunch of teenage angst and we have plenty of that with Zuko alone (pun intended :p).

Avatar doesn't normally do flash backs or go into the minds of the characters, as most Animes seem to do. In a way it makes it more difficult to work with, but also gives it a better feel.

^ im not saying to do those things in a flashback. im saying to show Ty Lee returning from the circus and seeing her parents and six siblings. we don't need a flashback for that.

as for Mai, we could have seen her mother checking up on her...since it seems like she's technically living alone in the Capital.

you don't even need to show the parents maybe. Mai could get a letter or we just need to see Ty Lee's reaction to coming home and what the idea of coming home means to her. there's a number of ways they could have done it, just something to prepare us for what was going to happen in the Beach rather than throwing it at us.

I think you'd need more then a few minutes to convey those two scenes though.

He would probably go well with the brainwashing of BaSingSe. Also what I don't get is that everyone is wearing 1920ish clothes except half the main characters.

I get that they're trying to differentiate them, but it feels a little too much if you ask me. If they're going for a certain era and fashion, the mains need to get suited up in different duds along the way. Otherwise it will look like Avatar The Last Airbender and fashion transported in time to the 1920s. Slightly hodgepodge.

like i said, i think the main conflict is going to be tradition vs. technology. so the main characters are probably going to be wearing more traditional clothing because thats the side they stand for.

It makes sense with Korra, but Mako and Bolin...not so much.

other characters have a more traditional look. its not just those three. even some of the people in the city.

You know what Amon probably has. He has scientist who made him a hydrogen bomb...and a canon to shoot it out.

or maybe he is the scientist.

It's the only surefire way to get rid of all benders...and everyone else.

right because if you can't be happy then no one can! lol

You know, even though I was kidding, that plot would be pretty badass. Though it's a kid show, so I doubt it will get anywhere near that dark, or even close to a super weapon of any kind.

Unfortunately it won't happen. The canon might, but that's probably even a stretch, knowing Nick.
