well, you're not the only one that's disappointed with valentine's day this year. Beauty and the Beast was supposed to come out in IMAX 3D around this time and it turns out they might never release it in the US and instead do a 3D blu-ray release.

and yes, that was a mini rant. im pissed.

That's how I felt when they said they were going to release the next One Piece dvd set (set for April now) on the first weekend of February or something.

It's ok Ai, Valentines Day is just an overinflated corporate holiday hell bent on grabbing a few extra (hundred) dollars wherever they can. Where's the real love anymore? Not here, might I add. It's just become a competition on how can get the most or impress someone with the most expensive junk. Sorta like Christmas and every other holiday. You don't need a holiday to express how much you need someone.

St. Valentine's day started because St. Valentine would supposedly send notes with prayers on them to people who were imprisoned in Rome. Then he got caught and was thrown in the Colosseum with wolves and lions and who knows what else.

There was also a Valentine's massacre where I believe it was Al Capone who blasted most of a rival mob with guns...i dont remember the full story though.

And to answer how it turned into a day of love, the answer is simple: Hallmark =D.

Let me. Ai, Don't worry about it. Due to popular demand, St. Valentines day has been canceled this year due to cupid being arrested for Deforestation. Cupid was fletching all of his arrows out of real wood, and with all the couples needing the arrows, he ended up wiping out a rainforest or two. the government has cupid captive and will not release him until he replants all those trees. Valentines day should be back after cupid if freed in about 20-30 years.
