Yes a time skip would do. Lee and Ai trained forever, but he found the fountain of youth and did not tell her. She later turned to be an old hag while he stayed young forever. The end.

I find when typing the story, that Ai and Lee's interactions are the most interesting to work with. Not always are they serious, but they always deliver the comical humor that's often needed.
