snow bending ?

You know how water benders can manipulate water , ice , snow , and blood?? can they create snow . I cant recall a bender ever turning water or ice to snow only water to ice and vice versa O.o. So can they change ice to snow and water to snow???.

Possibly a very very skilled bender could, like one of the Avatars if they wasted enough time. All that snow is, is tiny particles of ice. So they would have to separate each bead of water then freeze it. It would be very time consuming, require a lot of skill and patience. Plus after one had done so they would realize they could of spent their time more effectively.

Though they can manipulate the snow around them.

I guess , it just seems really odd if you flash freeze water and melt ice instantly you would tihnk snow wouldnt be a problem ?. I just never recalled anyone changing the state of water to Snow.

I wonder if kattara could?? ( I also wonder how difficult it could be when blood bending is possible ??)

Katara and a few others have, but they only created a slush, not a powdery snow substance.

Yes, though she doesn't create snow, it's more like a combination of water, ice, and air bending (from Aang) that creates a slush like substance.

Though to be honest I think the Avatar creators pull something out of their ass every now and then to make something, such as with Energy Bending or whatever the hell it's called.

Yeah but with this show they normally have an explanation for things in the show, and it's science based. Even with bending it has its own science explanations even if it is fake. That's what I like about this show.

^ yeah that's true. but then, the energy bending does have a science. it's supposed to be the energy within the body that allows a person to bend (or not bend since everyone has energy in the body). and Aang was given instructions on an ancient form of manipulating the energy within the body. so...it does kind of have a science. they just dont bother to explain it clearly =D

No I meant it just came out of the blue. It felt like a butt pull so that Aang didn't have to kill Ozai, no where else was the art mentioned, even in the slightest.

thats true. but the energy flowing within the body has been mentioned numerous times and since it is an ancient technique....i dont know.

Still you would think they would have put some better foreshadowing in. Energy in the body and a picture of a turtle just doesn't add up to energy bending to me.

Ty-lee foreshadowed it , she could see peoples aura/chi / life energy flow and block out their chakras etc . It was the only a tiny hint , and the lionturtle was a bit WTH but...

could they have least mentioned a lion turtle a couple times....or even have mentioned a joke about chi bending like when aang wished he could bend metal...

EDIT: from what i got , chi bending is what every form of bending originates from hence why it can take away ozais power. But it was stupidly done , compared to how clever azulas insanity was ( which allowed kattara and zuko to win :p) the dues ex machina for ozai was just terrible .

Well the lion turtle was seen in the scriptures of the Desert library. It was the only time he or it was shown.

Aang said to Sokka "Look at this weird lion turtle thing."

To which Sokka says "Eh I've seen weirder."

My only guess as to why that is, is because the lion turtle is ancient and no one had seen it since then.

still seemed like a huge plot device , i mean having an badger mole , dragon water bending monster and air bison unlock it would have great for me. since all elements would have worked together not some overly well animated turtle.

well, i think they chose a turtle because turtles are said to be wise creatures and lions are considered noble creatures. so it would make sense to have a lion turtle, a wise, kingly creature, to hold such knowledge and be able to pass the knowledge to Aang. yes, it would have made more sense if they had hinted at this earlier but i think the reason why they did not is because the lion turtle is supposed to be rare being. so, they cant really foreshadow about a creature no one even knows exists. unless they did something that was similar to how people look for Big Foot now XD.

Well they could have subtle hints like scripture and architecture art of it, like they did with the library. If they had done that, then people would realize that the lion turtle is a reoccurring image and must be in some scale of importance. Not necessarily gaining that attention of the gang or anyone, just being their in the landscape.
