Oi... where to begin...

Finals for starters. Most my teachers have been giving tests left and right or the equivalent of them. Unfortunately though, I still have to put up with this for at least 2 more weeks.

My laptop broke. Not major damage, but one of the metal hinges just sheared right off. Only one hinge is holding it on, and I have to be careful opening and closing it so the wires don't get cut.

I've had minor insomnia for the past few weeks (look at the time I'm posting this!) And I'm currently taking melatonin to help with that. it'll probably end (or get worse) over summer. (again, look at the time)

M grandmother, who has been living with my parents and I, had a heart attack a few days ago. she was rushed to the hospital and will have surgery on Tuesday. One major artery was 100% blocked, another two were 80% blocked. she's on medicine to thin her blood and to unblock the arteries until her surgery. The surgery itself everyone already knows will be difficult. One of her main arteries are brittle and the place where they usually get the veins to replace them, the leg, can't be used. She's had surgery on it before and had to amputate a few toes and other parts of her foot because of the arteries are bad there as well. She is doing fine so far, but only because she is on A LOT of morphine.

It's 2:45 AM here, so there's probably more that I can't remember, but that's the bulk of the reason why I havn't been on. *I am aware that even with all that, I should have said something ahead of time*

Wow, it's good to hear back from you Zfish! I'm sorry about what happened to your grandmother. At least you are blessed that she is still alive. I hope that the surgery goes as planned. I never had surgery, but I know it can be pretty scary. My uncle had it a long time ago, but it was only on his back. He had to live in his homes basement for a good bit of time for the healing where he brought a huge bed and TV.

I know how finals go, they can be a pain, but I thought that in school they only had them during the last week or two. I never remembered them being more then that. I guess that's different with where you go or live.

Is the laptop of yours the same one that had a fried motherboard? Technology can be such a pain sometimes. My Wii is totally bricked now and it's been that way for ages...It used to be just "System files corrupt, please refer to owners manual" but now it's just a black screen. I got it in December of 2006 so it's way over it's warranty, but I don't want to lose all my game data. That's like four years of data down the drain if I don't get it fixed, but I hear it's a 50/50 that if Nintendo repairs it, it can lose data.

Is that a easy or temporary fix for your hinges? And it sucks about your insomnia. I hope that goes away soon.

Yeah, but she won't last much longer, Her chances aren't great. On a side note, It just figures that Murphy would make the insane, manipulative grandparent with Alzheimer's outlive all the others.

It's more of a lot of tests to cover what we've done, over two weeks, then exam week. luckily I only have two state tests, Both of which should be easy for me, but all my teachers are giving tests these two weeks.

No, It's my new laptop that I got in September. I've only had it for 8 months, and the hinge snapped off. The only way to fix it is to get a new casing for it. I have two warranties for it, one with Lenovo, the company (who will ignore it and just say "customer abuse"), and though the small store I got it from.

yay zfish is back =D

first of all, im sorry about your grandmother and i hope the surgery goes well at least. blocked arteries are a Bi**h if you don't catch them in time.

i knew state tests had something to do with it. they're evil! i hope you do well on all of your tests. the test mother load before finals sucks especially since they give finals right after that.

and yeah, technology sucks when it comes to repairs. but at least you've still got a warranty on it.

i also hope your insomnia goes away or however that works. sleeping pills usually help (they help me anyway XD).

Well I hope you do well on your tests and that you're able to get your laptop fixed or replaced.

Also sleeping pills? I never had to take sleeping pills before, but that sounds a little unhealthy at your guys ages if you don't have some kind of insomnia disorder.

i only take them if i know i wont be able to sleep because my mind will be wandering all night. like if i go to a con or something. you only take them for a couple of days and then you naturally fall into your normal sleeping pattern. thats how it's supposed to work anyway.

Oh I see, I never taken any sleeping pills. I normally try not to take much medicine at all. So taking these 6 pills pattern thing is just killing me.

yeah, they're just to help you fall back into a normal pattern of sleeping. i mean, some people do have to take them constantly and that's when it might not necessarily be good for you.

Oh yeah. I'm sure in moderation or small portions spread out, they're ok.

I'm just taking Melatonin, it's naturally made by the brain to help you fall asleep anyway, this just gets it in you sooner.

EDIT: the surgery was successful, now we just need to wait if she'll survive the next 48 hours. after that it's 3 months recovery in a nursing home.
EDIT2: Wasn't my surgery, idk why that was added.

Well that's great! Both that your getting some medicine to help you and that your grandparent is doing well. I hope she pulls through!
