Also yeah I just read the first few pages, mostly introductions. I liked that it explained in more detail why their history was lost.

I already knew why, but I enjoyed the extra details. The funny thing is that it's the United States Infantry. It's literally like this.

We're just going on vacation to check it out for a possible place to move. I don't know if/when we're moving yet. Probably not for another 2 years or so. If it happens at all.

Finally got around to being able to read my Civil War book. I found information on the exact unit and company that I portray. I found this funny, they were stationed in a makeshift fort in the Mojave desert.

That would be a hell of a place to guard. If the vultures don't get you, dehydration will.

Yeah it was neat to know. Then when the war broke out they were called to the fight. It took them about a year to get to the other side, which makes sense in those times.

EDIT: yeah I pretty much agree with you and the article on the ending. total let down in that way. surprisingly though, im not as bothered by it as i feel like i should be.

also, i drove by Ocean City today. Just thought I'd share that :p

But it was not to be. Aang shows up, says something about hitting rock bottom doing something, and just gives Korra her Bending back. She even goes into the Avatar State, because that’s what everyone was waiting for, right? Once again, Korra didn’t have to work for anything, learn anything, or sacrifice anything. She’s simply handed what she wants because she was at her lowest point. With literally seconds of story to go, DiMartino and Konietzko successfully create a domino effect which destroys the significance of nearly everything that came before.

This part I agree with the most. I'm actually surprised that with the amazing work that the Avatar Team does, animation, plots, and all, that they go and completely disregard a turning point to it all.

You should had stopped by and checked to see if my sand village was still there :P

I know. I still believe that they should have just cut out the bit with Korra giving Lin her bending back and spent that time giving Korra a bit more of a struggle with losing her bending before her getting it back. And then have Mako call her the Avatar instead of Tenzin. I think that missing two-three minutes would have helped in the end. Or just ask to make the episode longer...find something else to cut....something.

And I was going to but unfortunately I didn't have the time to look for remnants of sand villages :p We had to catch the ferry.

Wait you actually went in Ocean City? It's kind of a ways off from the main roads.

No I didn't. Unless Ocean City is not far off 113. That's the road we were on to get to the ferry.

It's pretty close, I just assumed you were using one of the ferries for Ocean City. That was the only way to get there back in the day.

oh no, i was using the Cape May Ferry to get from Delaware to New Jersey.
