Re: Randomness Core
Well, if you live in the area....
Seriously, a lot of people have an annual pass and go to the park in the evening on the weekends just to hang out. It's totally worth it.

Re: Randomness Core

Re: Randomness Core
I don't know there are some people that live I don't even know where and they have passes that get them into Florida and California and I'm just like 'wow those people must be loaded or really devoted to Disney' cause I would never spend that much money on a pass where I'm clearly going to both parks.

Re: Randomness Core
People like that either have too much money and don't know what to do with it or have really bad money management skills.

I'm saying I wish I was a rich person so I could buy useless things. I mean, I already bought ridiculous hats without being rich so I think we can only imagine the possibilities if I was actually rich.

You would buy ridiculous hats that you couldn't even physically wear?

If I become rich, I'm going to buy the biggest Civil War cannon I can find and put it in my front lawn.

Re: Randomness Core
I'd also like to get my hands on a 1855 Springfield Model.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Springfield_Model_1855
It's basically like all the other muskets manufactured during that time. You probably don't know a lot about muskets during that time, but there's two main parts for firing the gun, a hammer and nipple. You pull the hammer back and it hits the nipple, which sparks a chamber in the gun, and it fires.
To get the spark, soldiers had to place a percussion cap over the nipple, which ignited when struck by the hammer. Well the 1855 model designed a chamber for percussion tape, so that you could either use the tape or caps. It's basically like that primer tape you could get with cap guns when you were a kid.
I don't want an original though, because they're probably so rare and expensive. I just want a reproduction for reenactment purposes. There are companies who make them, but the problem is that they don't design the musket to be fully operational. The percussion chamber is just for looks, you can't actually shove tape in there. So what is the point?
That is something I would actually buy (fully functional) if I made enough money.

Re: Randomness Core
I'm sure there's a company somewhere that makes them the way you want it. The problem is finding that company. Maybe they have a company that does it overseas?
Or, there could be a way to fiddle with the rifle and make it work the way you want it to. Sort of like how a lot of people will buy the regular brand of something but then modify it to work the way they want it to. I mean the only example I can think of though at the top of my head is how a lot of people buy Barbies and then repaint the faces to make them look more realistic.

Re: Randomness Core
Well there is a plate on the rifle, which opens and you place the tape inside of it. The problem is that the plate opens, but it's not hallow inside. It's just a large chunk of metal.
Sort of like if you opened a door that only led to a brick wall...yeah.

Re: Randomness Core
Is there a way you can replace the plate or somehow make it hallow inside? I wonder if a blacksmith could do it. Granted, it'd probably be expensive but I'm just saying it's a possibility. Or get someone to replace the plate. Still probably expensive but it might be doable?

Re: Randomness Core
If I did that, then I might as well not even buy the 1855 lol. The whole reason it's different then the others is because of the plate.

Re: Randomness Core
It's cool, it's not like I plan on investing money on an outdated musket that I can only use every so often. At least not anytime soon. But one day I would like to buy some tape primer from those cap gun toys and see if it would work in the 1855 model. Cause that would be cool.
