Re: Randomness Core
No, I'm in the DCP. I'm saying I applied to Professional Internships as well.
When you apply to Disney, they have a little 'progress' bar that shows you how far you've gotten in the submission process. For some reason, all the internships I applied to that were in NY and pertained to my major, I was almost immediately booted to the 'no longer in consideration' category. However, for other ones that didn't really fit my major, I got farther.
So I get the impression that I must be doing something wrong with my resume or maybe I eventually say something wrong in my interview that doesn't get me the job. IDK but it feels like there's something wrong.

Re: Randomness Core
Some sites use resume detecting software, when part of the applications are done online. This way its easier to get a whole bulk of people checked in and out quickly. Its all electronics, not really people looking into the stuff, unless you make the cut. So its sort of hit or miss.

Re: Randomness Core
Well, if that's the case then hopefully this review will maybe be able to figure out what key words/whatever im missing to get past the first phase.

Re: Randomness Core
Right and that may be the case why you were accepted in one program more easily and not the other. Because those were more technical/computer based and the other needed actual human interaction. Just a wild guess though.

Re: Randomness Core
Yeah, that could be it too. Didn't even consider that. Pretty sure the Marvel one was a person reading everything.

Re: Randomness Core
I know that was the case with some of the places I applied to. (Because I was informed I was overqualified and some deadbeats who were hired were immediately fired afterwards) You'd think they would realize their errors and try another approach after that...

Re: Randomness Core
Yeah I hate the online application system. It's stupid. I wanted to get a job at Blockbuster and the guy told me I had to go online and I didn't get hired. Meanwhile, he was complaining about how his young employees didn't want to clean the store. It wasn't his fault that I didn't get picked but it just shows how screwed up this online system is.

Re: Randomness Core
I'd hire someone who came in person quicker then someone who couldn't move their ass away from the computer lol. I'm not talking about customer service jobs though. There are a lot of places the online system, it just doesn't work so great.
Being able to bypass the application does not automatically make someone qualified.

Found some old looking bottles. Can't get a fully confirmed date on the lot of them, but I'm piecing together most are from the late 40s early 50s. Still pretty cool. I have off of work tomorrow, gonna go bottle hunting.

I'm on my least favorite part of editing: syncing and then not having school so I can't go and actually edit the damn thing when I'm done until Wednesday :O

Re: Randomness Core
I found a whiskey bottle that looks like it's from the 1800s. I proceeded to put a little water in it, to get the mush out of the bottom, and half the side of the damned bottle popped off. Sonuvabitch.
Still mostly intact, so I'll just outline the sides with superglue and it'll be good as new. Also have fun with that project of yours.

Re: Randomness Core
You ruined your bottle. It will never have the same value again. Ever.
And thanks. I traded my soul to the devil just to get it done in time :p

Re: Randomness Core
It might not even be old, but I wasn't intending on selling any of it either way. The inside smelled like someone had took a **** in it, so I wanted that out of it.
I found some old bottle for gut root and kidney remedies, whatever the hell gut root is.

Re: Randomness Core
Where I live. It's mostly rural and still a farm town, but back then the farmers just threw their stuff away. Normally in a dump in the back woods, because back then there was no such thing as a sanitation dump ground.

Re: Randomness Core
Well some people, mostly teens, sneak a beer bottle or two in the woods :P If it still has the wrapper or a twist cap shape around the lip of the bottle, then it's probably newer.

Re: Randomness Core
They're probably yours :P
I saw the same exact bottle type, down to shape, color, and size, on a show geared towards the wild west. So it must be pretty old. I'll just superglue the piece that popped off easily, and keep it with my other relics. Maybe I'll rig some kind of box to store it in.
Besides even if anyone wanted to have it/if someone was to buy it, they would try to rob me.

I'll sell them to you :P
Would you like a 1930s milk bottle? I found a bunch of those. The ones that the milk delivery guy would bring to everyone's doorstep.

Re: Randomness Core
I ended up giving a few of my finds away as gifts to people. The bottle hunting business isn't really that great, unless you find yourself a sap. Still have that one old whiskey bottle, which I super-glued back together. Worked really well.

I read Flash Point today which follows Barry Allen as the Flash. It was really good. Highly recommend it. Lots of feels.
