Well, my plan had been to finish the draft over Winter Break :p That's what I had meant.

You mean that one script where the kids get trapped in a school? I thought you were finished that.

Nope. I only had the first half done cause that's what was required. But then I finished it on my own.

Yeah, I'm just waiting for Tobin to look it over and give me feedback. Then I start draft 2 which will probably consist of me scraping all of Act III. That's my prediction anyway. But I'm at the bottom of the pile apparently :/

Bottom of the pile, as in awaiting a proofreading? Well what can you expect, they have their own current students to worry about.

Oh yeah, I know. He already said at the end of our class last semester that we might have to bother him to to get it done :p I was actually going to ask him today when I'm supposed to start bothering him and if I even have to or if he's got it covered XD. I also know that I sent it to him right when he had to advise a bunch of people on what classes to take.

So yeah I know. It's supposedly better if you leave your script alone for a couple of weeks before going back and revising it anyway. I'm just worried that it's not going to get done before I graduate. But that would be my fault if it happened :p And if that does happen, I might ask him if he can give me feedback over the summer before I go off to the DCP.

Just give him some time, I'm sure he's busy with the work that he's expected/needs to get done, before that. Also what's the dcp?

Disney College Program. I leave in August and supposedly they will be helping me get connections with Walt Disney Animation and Pixar. So I want the script done to show them while potentially having a second idea in development if they want to see work I've done.

I also want it done in case I decide to apply to graduate school should the DCP not give me the connections I want. I also have to talk to my professors about that because they already offered to help if I decide to go to graduate school like if I have any questions. Cause honestly, I'm getting kind of tired of being the oldest and therefore Guinea Pig of the family crap. Problem is, the registration for graduate school is when I'm in the DCP so I need to know if it's okay if I just ask them questions via email. When I first started asking them, they wanted to talk with me in person but that might not be an option for me....

I meant including those other opportunities, not just Disney. I've been applying all over the place with no such luck.

Supposedly though if you do the DCP it looks better when you apply for jobs so maybe it'll boost my resume. I don't know.

Believe me, I tried a lot of places that related and not-so related to my degree. I had plenty of interviews. You probably remember that one job I went to, that looked like an absolute joke in every way possible. The place looked like a twister hit it, the guy interviewing me (seemed like the boss) didn't act like he was actually interested/with it during the interview.

It did not leave a lasting impression. Not to mention they falsely led on with inaccurate job details like the salary. Then I come to find out they wanted me to basically run their small scale company for peon change. Yeah find another slave, I'm not working minimum wage for responsibilities such as that.

Well, luckily I signed up for this thing where I go and get interviewed by actual professionals as practice and they give me feedback. So I'll hopefully figure out what I've been doing wrong this entire time if I've been doing anything wrong.

My one friend I know does freelance in graphic design. And I've been doing freelance work with the elementary school. The hard part is trying to find stuff in between the freelance work.

It also doesn't help that most of the jobs that are looking to hire (and there's a lot) are a 'i need you start working now if I hire you' and I can't do that now cause they want you to work full time :/

Interviewing for jobs is always a hit or miss. It could be something as silly as the person not having the same tastes as you. So I wouldn't lock yourself in a set interviewing practice, when or after you get your feedback.

Well, considering the places that I've applied to include Marvel, Disney, and the Asia Society, I seriously doubt it's cause a lack in similar tastes :p

I'm actually thinking part of my problem could be what I wear to interviews and/or that I just somehow ask to be interviewed for jobs that I don't necessarily qualify for. Which I still find confusing how I've gotten farther in the Disney Application process for jobs that have very little to do with my major but the ones that are about my major I get rejected almost immediately.

Your guess is as good as mine. You were interviewed for at Marvel? I know the Disney program allowed a lot of people that I know of (and they really didn't have majors that would benefit them too much) Like history for example.

No no no with Disney I'm not talking about the Disney College Program. I'm talking about their Professional Internships which is a whole other beast altogether. I somehow managed to get farther in the submission process with the Professional Internships that I felt I didn't really qualify for and got immediately rejected on the ones I did qualify for.

Like, I just flat out don't get it.

So you're not in the DCP but in the more professional internship?
