Please read/skim the rules before jumping into the world of One Piece RolePlay
RolePlay Status: Intermediate

We ask only that members who wish to join know how to make clear posts, without L33T speak, and how to make concise and descriptive posts.

Ex; Member B inserts about 50 some words for a descriptive and engaging post. <Good

Member A just stares at B. <Bad

(Point is that we don’t want one liner posts, because everyone else has a hard time figuring out how to continue the conversation or action with so little evidence to go by. Also to write in proper English.

We will keep each post to a minimum of five or four sentences.)

This RP will not be too strict, so if you wish to join, but this is your first time, you may do so. We just ask that you make a conscious effort of what you’re posting.

Welcome to the land of One Piece, where the adventure never ends!
1. The way that this RolePlay works is by Island Arcs. Instead of one main plot driven story, there will be island arcs. Each island will have its own adventure and story for all to enjoy. Maybe one island will be an exotic rainforest, while another will be a crazy snowy tundra, all which will have their own tale to tell.

So that everyone enjoys the story and has a turn in creating it, each island will be created by another member. We will take turns in who makes the next island. The person who creates the island, will also be in charge of everything about the island, including what kind of adventure awaits those present.

Note! The islands created will not be done so to favor your character, your friends character, others, or any other unfairness.

Ex; [I]The entire land is covered in water, except for one tiny spot, only large enough to fit a foot on top of it. Therefor anyone will devil fruit powers are completely useless and dead. Said island will be modified.[I/]

Godmodding the island to your advantage will not be tolerated and there are still RolePlay moderators to make sure everyone is having a fun and fair time.

This RP is done by Island Arcs, so anyone can join the RolePlay without seemingly and forcefully slapped into it. Each Island Arc will have a new land, tale, and people, therefore any member wanting to join once the RP has taken off, can do so easily with the Island Arc we’re currently part of.

2. Because this adventure will hopefully gain a lot of members, there will be many people who can either become a pirate, a marine (attempting to stop pirates), a bounty hunter, or anything in between.

Pirate crews will actually be formed by actual functioning members. For example Forum Member A might be one of the crew’s repairman, while Member B is a doctor.

However because this adventure has yet to start, none of the pirate crews have yet to be formed. That means no one will start off with a crew, a boat or anything. The adventure and plot of this RP is to assemble a crew through the various islands attended, including a ship, and witness the crazy adventures to come.

3. When this adventure takes off, several crews may and will be created and will branch off to various islands. This way not everyone is sticking together throughout the entire journey. Crew A (full of real members) may sail to a desert island, while Crew B (also full of real members) will head to a rainforest island.

Just because a member may be part of a crew, does not mean they are stuck with them for good. Just like real crews, people disband to either join others, make their own crews, and or can be kicked out of their pirate crew. The possibilities are unlimited.

4. Because part of this adventure will also be ruled with marine intervention and various battles, RolePlay moderators will be put into effect to ensure that each scenario is played fairly for both sides. Godmodding of any kind will not be tolerated.

There is no HP or MP in this RolePlay, so only Battle Moderators will determine how a fight goes down. We all know that two people fighting each other in a battle will not throw the other a bone and therefore become an impenetrable brick wall. As a result we have moderators to stop this.

Battle moderators don’t control the fights, they simply oversee them. So Forum Member A and B battling each other out should continue their fight, as if no unseen force was shouldering over their posts. The moderators will simply enter when a fight becomes too unfair from Godmodding.

Ex; Member A strikes B with a well aligned punch, heading straight for their jaw.
B dodges, then sidekicks A, and while A is on the ground not moving, punches them in the head a million times.

Also you cannot control the other member. Just like in other RPs, fights are done by two people, who control their characters. When fighting, because it is much more quick, action packed, and can get really confusing without proper information to go by, please be as descriptive as possible.

If attacked by someone, don’t just type “Dodge it” Explain how it was dodged, otherwise it just seems like a rearend grab, to get out of sticky situation.

4A; Just because you may be a marine does not mean you are unstoppable with unlimited forces. If pirates manage to thwart your soldiers or ship fleets, they have won. This does not mean you can send for additional ships/soldiers and immediately receive them to continue the fight. They have won and escaped, it’s as simple as that.

5. Character Creation!

You may create your character as a pirate, marine, bounty hunter, or anything in between. Because at the start of the RP, we will not be traveling to the GrandLine just yet, we have no crew, ship, or anything, our characters need to be inexperienced.

There will be no bounties on our characters at the start because their adventure has yet to take off. As we move on, their bounty will rise considering what has happened during that duration.

Characters are allowed to have devil fruit powers, but are not needed. If you don’t want one, don’t feel forced to add it. There will only be one fruit power, no exceptions, and the character must lose the ability to swim. Judging by how farfetched or Godmodded the devil fruit power is, it may need to be reedited.

Your character may also have a skill that they are efficient in. Perhaps they know the basis of navigation, or a cook/chef, or a doctor. They however cannot be a navigating swordsman, who knows how to cook gourmet meals and fix any kind of injury. Again only choose on skill that you want them to excel at.

The amount of different skills needed on adventures and sea voyages is vast. If you think of one that wasn’t mentioned, don’t hesitate to make it for your character, or ask if you are unsure.

One Piece; The Great Pirate Era Empty Re: One Piece; The Great Pirate Era

Post  Lee Sun Apr 29, 2012 7:00 pm

The world of One Piece, it is a mystical adventure like any other tale ripped straight out of literature. This tale is no different from any other period in time, greed drove many. The legendary pirate of the entire world and seas, known to all simply as the Pirate King, left his title and all his succeedings somewhere in the Grand Line.

Before he met his end, by the hands of the swift and strict justice system of the Marines, he ushered the world in a new era. The Great Pirate Era, where everyone with a ship, a crew, and the will, could search for his wealth's final resting ground. Although thousands have tried, none have managed to find this secret land in the Grand Line.

Now a century later, this final resting place has remained untouched, with pirates and villainy of all kinds scouring the blue seas. It is an ocean, calling out to those seeking adventure, fortune, fame, romance, and anything imaginable.

Eager to start his own adventure himself, a lone traveler, Flint to be exact, readies himself to embark on his journey on the sea. However without a crew, a ship, and not even two scraps of food or copper pieces to scratch, he's already off to a wondrous start.

Staring down to the approaching village in his sight, Flint situated his woolen hat, before following the dirt road to this quaint town. There wasn't nothing special about this location at all. It was just another harbor on the large land known as The Great Plains.

However this large piece of land wasn't exactly a plains, but it wasn't an island either. Because of this, most inhabitants here weren't the seafaring type. Still there were plenty of harbors around, for those needing a boat to travel across the South Sea.

"Maybe they'll have a boat here!" Flint exclaimed excitedly, before rushing towards the harbor.

Name: Captain (Former) Blood

Age: 34

Visual Age: 34-40

Gender: Male

Devil Fruit: None

Skills: Blood possesses an unusual amount of strength and can therefore lift objects most people can't. When severely drunk, his strength increases though he is completely unaware of this.

Personality: Gruff and shrewd, Blood is the sort of man that likes to push people's buttons especially when the interrupt his drinking time which is most of the day. However, if he likes someone, he can and will show sincerity at times though he is mostly a 'tough love' sort of person.

Appearance: Most days Blood wears a white tunic that is ripped at the sleeves and open so it looks like a vest. He wears a red bandana on his head. His black pants are rolled up to just above his knees. When he is actually wearing shoes, they are sandals. But most of the time he is barefoot and is always seen with a flask in his hand.

History/Background: Blood was once a rather famous captain of a rather famous crew. However, because he was drunk most of the time and constantly destroyed ships as a result, a mutiny took place and his crew members tied him to a cannon ball and threw him out to sea. Blood managed to survive this ordeal (though how is unknown) and is currently living under the name Hawkins where he spends most of his dies lying on beaches and other spacious locations drinking rum or alcohol of any kind.

The village was rather small with a single strip of shops selling useful supplies with the harbor just across a fairly narrow road. The shops were practically on top of one another and in between a shop selling bait and another shop selling medicine was a tavern. Because this was the only place to get a good meal while still being close to the harbor, the tavern was always busy.

Down by the harbor on a rather small but affordable boat sat Blood. He was nonchalantly lying out on the railing with a flask in his hand. It wasn't his boat but no one said he couldn't be there. He guzzled down another large swig of his rum.

Once Flint had reached the small town, everything came into view, with splendid detail. It was just a blur from the steep outskirt hill that he was currently on, but now everything was so much larger.

It smelled like strong salt water and fish, everywhere. It was a smell one could not just escape, mainly because the entire village was so close to the waters. A lot of the markets were even built above water, its base just being numerous board planks, or a dock, that kept everything up.

Taking in the imagery, especially the fishermen hard at work, the travelers and inhabitants enjoying a fine meal, drink, or merchandise, and the energetic sells men, Flint couldn't continue himself, as he gasped and moaned in amazement.

He couldn't stop looking every which way, up, down, left, and right. Often almost bumping into people, it was clear he was completely and totally sightseeing every little nook and cranny.

Occasionally looking out at the strip of people walking to and fro, continuing to swig from his flask, Blood noticed a young looking boy eagerly exploring the harbor. He was no genius but he was pretty sure he might have found himself a sucker.

"Hey kid!" Blood called towards him, waving his flask in the air. "Ya wanna buy a boat?"

Hearing someone's distinct voice echoing out in the distance, Flint jerked where the voice came from. From there he saw some seemingly scruffy middle aged man waving him down, as he asked his question.

Amazed at the ship he was trying to sell, Flint's jaw dropped in excitement, before he rushed towards the man and his ship. "Woah! This is your ship!?" He asked, as he observed it, his eyes almost leaping onto the ship's walls itself.

He then proceeded to touch and feel its texture, before leaping onto it, laughing excitedly. "This is so awesome!" He added, tapping his foot on the base, thumping it loudly.

"Sure is!" Blood said. He laughed a little but this was mostly to himself.

He let the kid absorb every bit of the boat as he drank.

"So you wanna buy it? I'll give you a discount," he said as he wiped the rum from his lips.

As Flint was swinging on the small mast of the ship, he then leapt onto the base, once the man spoke to him again. "Sold!" He exclaimed happily, before whipping out his only copper coin, and slapping it in the man's palm.

"Hey now!" Blood exclaimed as he nearly fell off the side of the boat as he saw that this boy planned on buying the boat with just a copper piece. What was he, an idiot? "When I said discount, I didn't mean you giving me crap for it."

He then got off the railing, though he was stumbling along the way.

"Now if you wanna buy this boat, I'm going to need some serious money."

"That's all I have." Flint said, not in a depressed or saddened tone, as he shrugged his arms. He then stopped, contemplating what else he could do, as his eyes slowly panned to his left. "What if I threw this delicious dried meat in with it?" He asked, whipping out a thin strip of dried jerky out of his pocket, and thrust it forward to show it to the man.

However before his arm extended fully outward to showcase his food, he looked at is, as he noticed he didn't get a response. "What!?" He shouted, spotting bite marks on it, before noticing he had inadvertently chewed on it. "Mmm, this is good..."

Flint frowned at this man, as he stepped forward once slightly, he was about to start something, until he heard someone call them out from on the dock. Confused at the middle aged man's words, he then stared at him, before looking directly back at the drunk.

"Wait, your boat?" He asked, looking at the old man again, "I thought it was his boat." He said pointing at the old drunk, Blood.

While Flint was trying to sort things out between the real boat owner, Blood was attempting to make his escape. Although, he utterly failed at this as he stumbled towards the edge.

"No, this is my boat," the man called back.

As Flint rushed towards Blood, Blood lost his balance and fell over the ledge. If Flint was close enough to Blood by the time this happened, he would likely fall over the edge as well and into the water below.

However Flint had not reached him in time and merely caught him in the act of falling in the waters. His weight plummeted into the ocean, throwing water up, and spraying him as he rushed to check below the ledge. Unfortunately he didn't see this lying, cheating, old man anywhere. He had apparently gotten away with his copper coin.

When Blood was far enough away from the boat and Flint, he emerged from under the water, spitting out whatever salt water had entered his mouth. With difficulty, he heaved himself out of the water and onto a nearby deck where he stumbled aimlessly into the street, disappearing within the crowd.

Not finding this drunk anywhere, on the ship, the dock, in the water, anywhere, Flint angrily thumped his fists on the middle aged man's boat railing. "Great now how am I going to buy this ship!?"

"Um kid? Are you implying you wanted it for one copper piece?" The boat owner asked skeptically, with a rose brow.

"Well yeah, what else would I be saying?" Flint replied more calmly, as he turned to look the man head on. A moment of pause occurred, before the man thrust his arm, pointing it to the side where the docks were. "Get out."

Later on, after Flint had disembarked the ship, he strolled the decks with his hands in his pockets. Slightly upset about his failure to obtain a boat, his last piece of money stolen, and his last piece of food eaten, he frowned. "Stupid jerk, if only I had my copper back. And he had to make me eat my meat strip to. That could had sealed the deal!"

Suddenly his stomach grumbled, before he moaned, clutching his stomach in misery. "Ouh...and I'm so hungry. So very hungry." He replied to himself, before looking over to the tavern, where it was bustling with people coming in and out. Not to mention the fine cuisines he noticed people engorging on and the chefs preparing every moment.

Suddenly the warm aroma's of the restaurant hit him hard, as he drooled happily, licking his lips. However once he dug into his pockets, he immediately remembered he was dirt poor. "It's not fair!" He exclaimed stomping on the deck, before noticing a sign.

It read "Help Wanted, Apply Inside." Reading these words aloud, he then browsed below, "No experience needed...huh." With a large grin, he ripped the sign off of the post, snapping it into two, before rushing into the tavern with it between his pit.

"Alright, maybe if I make enough here I can eat something!...Oh and get a ship!" Flint said to himself, before thrusting the sign onto the bar keeps counter. "I'd like a job please!"

Blood walked farther and farther away from the village to the point where he was now along the shore. Content, he sat down on the sandy beach and happily took out his flask. Pretty soon, another large sum of the bottle was gone.

"That hit the spot," he said as his vision began to blur. He sat there for a few minutes before finally passing out on the beach.

The bartender looked at Flint for a minute, as if examining him.

"Follow me," he said nonchalantly. He then came from around the bar and walked towards the kitchen, not bothering to see if Flint was keeping up or not. The kitchen was rather small but very busy as cooks were trying to prepare for all the hungry customers. A few waiters and waitresses were waiting to get the next plate. There were a few arguments going on between the cooks and waiters but the bar tender didn't seem to mind. Finally, he showed Flint towards a corner full of dirty dishes. He handed Flint some gloves and an apron. "Start cleaning," was all he said before going back to his work and leaving Flint alone.

Flint followed the man through the tiny kitchen, so cramped that it barely had room for the ovens and three or so chefs inside. However despite how busy they were, he had other things on his mind, as the man threw some gloves at him. 'Start Cleaning' was the only words to exit this bar keeper, so he did just that, as the man left.

Picking up one plate, that was in the dirty bin pile, all sorts of wasted food stuck to its base. Slowly a goop of it slid to the end, before plummeting into the bin. Shocked at how much food someone would waste, Flint rubbed his finger across the plate, before taste testing the contents. Delighted at the taste, he smiled. "Mmmm!" He exclaimed, before shoving his face into the plate and licking it clean.

One of the waiters came by with another pile of dirty dishes just as Flint was licking the dirty dish clean. They didn't say anything, just looked at him as though he had three heads before setting the plates on the counter next to the sink. The waiter then left slowly.

After cleaning several plates, full of dressing, meats, and other vegetables, Flint was rather full. With delight he patted his stomach, before rinsing the last dish and stacking it to the side. Passing by with a bag of trash brimming full, almost to the edge of bursting, the bar keep handed it over.

"Throw this in the dumpster." They replied, handing it over, as the entire bag sagged in Flint's hand. "And while you're at it, fix that sign you broke." He also stated, handing him a hammer, shovel, and nails. Awkwardly Flint carried everything outside, not dropping a single piece, as he wobbled back and forth, but kept his balance.
