Is Tumblr like this forum where you can go into your messages? If so there normally is a received and sent section. If that's the case, you can check who you sent it to.

i know who sent it to me. i just dont know why they sent it to me because im pretty sure i sent the message to someone else...

If that's the case, you can check who you sent it to.

I don't mean who sent it to you, but who you sent it to. Because if you're slightly unsure if you messed up and gave it to the wrong person, you can always check your PM archive.
