They did? I just thought they explained that he fought Koh once he killed his wife.

Right, cause I think I would had remember that being animated. They also explained it in lesser detail during The Siege of the North Part II.

Re: Amon's Plans of Evilness
Well I was hoping for more on Amon for these two episodes, but it was still nice to see him at all. It fell flat though because they show him at the end of episode one and then take a complete 180 with a filler episode.
I really loved the filler episode, but they should had kept his introduction until episode 2 ended, because I feel we will see more of him from here on out.

Re: Amon's Plans of Evilness
I kind of agree. Though, I wouldn't consider episode 2 a filler episode.

Re: Amon's Plans of Evilness
Right it was and wasn't. But what I was getting at that his introduction could had been so much more effective if they waited to add it in when he would become a key plot.

Re: Amon's Plans of Evilness
I still wonder how and why he wants to go about ridding benders. I wonder if he's somehow a descendant of Ozai (or Ozai himself because he lost his bending)
Also I'm kidding :P But that would be one heck of a twist.

Re: Amon's Plans of Evilness
^ I would like to remind you that M. Night is not directing this series Lee :p
I have a feeling it has to do with him having some warped way of thinking. Where he just wants the world to burn and is jealous of benders but will come up with really good excuses as to why they shouldn't exist.

Re: Amon's Plans of Evilness
I think it runs deeper then that. Maybe something happened in the past, which involved benders, and he was deeply scared by it. Then he just associated all benders with those 'certain ones'
So in a way, he's like the Batman of Avatar, only gone rogue.

Lol, not like I was being serious :p
Besides, a bunch of kids have seen Star Wars at a young age. It's nothing new.

Re: Amon's Plans of Evilness
You didn't respond to a previous post I had made (about something possibly being a spoiler)
Anyway this is more or less an interesting idea with what we found out about the new trailer.
Anyway this is more or less an interesting idea with what we found out about the new trailer.
- Spoiler:
- IE Amon's abilities to take away bending. I don't know how many games you've played, but have you ever played any where your character is way too overpowered at the start, only to lose their abilities somehow before the true story begins?
I thought it would be a nice twist if this happened to Korra somehow. Maybe Amon is able to rid Korra of her bending, or all of it. Which would leave her almost powerless. There's no better way to give the bending community a blow then to take away the powers of their Avatar.
Sure killing them would be great, but riding them of their power would be even more crippling. Then Korra's adventure would be to find enlightenment in spirituality to somehow harness her bending back. No one said it took peoples bending away for good, just that it takes it away.
Thoughts? For the record I had this idea for the longest time, but I was worried about spoilers, way too busy with work and chores, and just about anything with life.

I thought I did respond...
and yeah, I've heard that theory before about Amon. But that theory about Korra is really interesting!

Re: Amon's Plans of Evilness
I thought it would make for a perfect villain, because otherwise his powers would more be like a flaunting intimidation which he would never be able to use. Except for that one red shirt bender, if they even do that.

well there's is a rumor that he energy bends the sleezy guy on the back of Korra's newspaper in episode 2.

Right but that's not as exciting as a main character, like Korra.

Re: Amon's Plans of Evilness
To me it already seems like she freaking mastered the spirituality of the whole concept in two episodes. She needs some kind of conflict.
