One Piece
I know we've been discussing this in the Anime thread, but this show is too cool, it needs its own thread.
Anyway I just started to watch the recent boxset I had again. I stopped watching the episode on it, three more episodes then I thought I stopped at. I haven't watched the last episode on the set, but this filler has to be the best one.
The group gets stuck in an impenetrable rocky fortress, think Boiling Rock layout, but bigger and more fortified. Every episode was awesome and really filled with more humor then most other episodes I've seen so far. It started to get really interesting, but I'm pissed that I have to wait almost a year to see how the hell they get out.
I know I can search online, but screw that. I'd rather see it with the voices I've grown familiar with. Oh well at least the arc they left off on is worth the wait!

- Spoiler:
I think they might be getting another member soon, or maybe sometime after the next set on account that they were discussing a shipwright for the Merry

Re: One Piece
Do you like watch four or more episodes in one sitting? You seem to be watching one set after the other for a ton of different series.

Re: One Piece
....yes. lol it depends on the show and how much i like it, etc. it also depends on how busy I am at the time when the DVD gets to my library.
it also depends on what time i start watching. with the 30 minute shows I can watch like 4 or 5 a day. but with shows like Doctor Who and Torchwood I can't watch as many because each episode is an hour or more.

Re: One Piece
Is that five episodes in one sitting, cause that's quite a bit if you ask me. By the second episode I would need to take a break and watch (whatever it was later) Eventually if I watched them in a bulk like that, it would feel like more of a chore to finish then actually enjoying it.

Re: One Piece
not really. each episode is a 30 minutes so watching five is the same as sitting down to watch a movie.

Re: One Piece
I don't know about you, but most movies don't last 2 1/2 hours, unless you count the LOTR set. Those were really long.

Re: One Piece
That's a long movie by most time length standards. Most of them are about 90 minutes.

Re: One Piece
I can't remember many movies being that long. And when they are that long, they drag on.

Re: One Piece
Dark Knight
Inception
Muppets (the new one)
Hugo's going to be that long
HP movies
Iron Man
pretty much any superhero movie :p
thats all that comes to my head immediately.

Re: One Piece
Right and Dark Knight dragged on. I didn't care on account that it was the day after I got my wisdom teeth pulled and due to them having to dig into bone I just couldn't be arsed to do much.
Same thing with Harry Potter, way too long for me, but I watched only because my sister didn't want to see it alone.

yes to the Dark Knight and yes to all the HPs besides the last one. that ones two hours that just fly right by.

Re: One Piece
It depends actually. For Dark Knight there was a lot of poking around and stuff. When it's full on action, but not halfbaked action, that's when I won't really notice the time.

Re: One Piece
right. thats why i said only the last HP because that entire thing is essentially the finale battle.

Re: One Piece
Right I was thinking of Back To the Future, although I forget how long that was. They were all pretty badass.
Oh hey you need to see those movies :P *Gets knocked out*
Anyway on topic, who would you say is your favorite character?

Re: One Piece
I like the character's that are more on the goofy side, although they all have their comical moments. The best combinations are probably Usopp and Luffy, they're just funny together.
Although some unlikely combinations can be funny as well. Like when Usopp split the team up for a operation.
Ok it'll be me, Zoro, Luffy, and Robin
Other team will be Nami and Sanji. You can guess who really loved that plan :P
"Yes! Great plan Usopp!"

So you've been kind of quiet about this series. How far have you watched now? Did you end up watching all of the sets out now?

Re: One Piece
no, i havent been watching it at all. im still at the same spot as last time.
i havent had time to watch the Sarah Jane Adventures either which was what I wanted to watch before going back to One Piece. Ive been on season 2 for about three months lol.
im also still trying to finish Baccano! with my mom. its taking her forever to get through it because we're both so busy. since the library ends Sarah Jane Adventures at season 2, ill probably start One Piece again after im done with the season. I dont know where im going to find seasons 3-5 for Sarah Jane...
so...yeah im still in the sky.

Re: One Piece
yeah i know. ive been so bad lately because my attention span keeps shifting. also, i havent been off so its not like i can knock out five + episodes in a day. although, i did that today and yesterday with Sarah Jane because I realized the disc is due back soon XD.
we're thinking about getting rid of cable and getting Netflix when we move back in. if that happens, the beast will be reawakened and ill knock out tv shows so fast you won't even know what im watching lol.
