As the police cruiser sped out of control, an arrow soared towards its rear tire. The tire popped upon impact. Another arrow followed shortly.

But that would only slow down the cruiser to a degree and there were still pedestrians who were not moving out of the way fast enough. Quiver jumped down from her position and pulled two people out of the way of cruiser's path.

Since the police officer was incapacitated by his gunshot wound, the cruiser sped uncontrollably into the sidewalk. Fortunately bursting two of the tires did slow it down enough for Quiver to save the straggling pedestrians.

However, the vehicle hopped onto the curb, while it screeched and roared. Although there was no one in the cruiser's path, it hadn't came to a complete stop, and would be crashing into a nearby building any moment. Jet noticed the predicament the officer would be in, if he suffered the collision, and anyone who might be in the store, and quickly sped to the swerving vehicle.

With super speed he opened the door, unbuckled the driver's seat belt, placed the injured officer in the passenger seat, and swerved the cruiser between a backstreet. Once he was certain the cruiser wouldn't be going anywhere, he removed his tight grip from the steering wheel.

There was certainly a lot of collateral damage, that he took note of. There were the two wrecked cruisers and a demolished newspaper stand to name a few. Unfortunately in their brief moment of saving the endangered citizens, this was giving the criminals more time to escape.

The two super heroes still had time to stop them, if they used it wisely.

Quiver climbed onto the nearest bush stop overhead and took aim at the getaway car. If she could just take it down like she had with the cop car and Jet used his super speed to reach the vehicle almost immediately, the criminals wouldn't be going anywhere.

But she was at a disadvantage now: she was no longer high up and the car was moving farther and farther away. She had to be careful and timing was everything. So she pulled out one of her wind arrows.

She took longer than usual as she took aim. It had to be just right. When she felt she had the show, Quiver let her arrow fly.

Jet slowly pulled the officer out of the cruiser and leaned him against the store's wall that he almost ran through. The man was lucky, since the bullet hit him in the shoulder and wasn't any where near his organs or joints. There was a medic on scene who quickly rushed to the officer's aid.

This allowed Jet to focus on the getaway car that Quiver was aiming at. He only hoped she didn't wait too long. He could barely make out the vehicle from where he was. Her arrow whistled through the street and due to its wind resistance it was able to make it to the car in seconds.

It blew through the rear driver side's tire effortlessly. It then penetrated the front one, just as the first tire exploded into pieces. It didn't blow out due to the arrow losing speed and force through the penetration. It didn't matter though. There was still a big enough hole made and almost all of the air left the tire.

Just like the cruiser from before, the getaway car began to weave. It was clear that the driver was more skilled than the officer. He was able to keep the car from spinning out uncontrollably. The fact that he hadn't been shot in the shoulder helped matters.

The other three ceased firing out of the windows, as they held against the car's sides and embraced for the worst. Jet wasn't about to let Quiver's perfect shot go the waste and began to speed down Baker's steep hill.

As the driver continued to keep the car from spinning out he didn't take notice of the other three slowly being removed. Jet went from one door to the other and yanked one of the criminal's weapons out of their hands. From there, he removed one unarmed crook and hung them by their shirt on a tree, a post, or whatever was around.

The remaining criminals couldn't figure out what was happening until it was too late and they were also whisked away. The driver finally made it to the end of the hill when he decided to check on his colleagues. When he realized that no one was in the car, he panicked.

Thinking on the spot, he jumped out of the car, and grabbed a nearby awestruck citizen. "I'm not going back to prison!" They pulled out a pistol and placed it to the person's head. "I'm getting out of here, do you hear me!? I'll blow their head, if you don't step back!"

Quiver aimed another arrow. But she was too far and without a clear shot of anything that might be a useful distraction without putting the hostage at risk.

"Damn it."

She needed to get closer. She climbed down from her post. If Jet couldn't figure something out, hopefully he could distract the criminal long enough for her to get just a little bit closer.

The criminal made sure that he grabbed the weakest and closest hostage that he could. A frail old lady was held by gunpoint. There was no way she would be fighting back. Especially against someone in their prime. It took all of her strength to hold onto the man's arm, as she panicked.

"Drop your bow now!" The man growled, as they pulled back the hammer of their gun. It slowly clicked and echoed through the barrel to the old lady's head. They made sure to watch the archer, as she had an arrow aimed at him. "I'm getting out of here..."

Suddenly a burst knocked both the man and the old lady away from each other. He didn't even have the time to fire his gun, as he was sent off of his feet. Jet was more focused on the criminal, as they had a loaded weapon pinned to a civilian.

He punched the criminal in the face, as they were still falling from the first strike. Since he had to place too much priority on the man, he didn't have time to stop the old lady from falling. He only hoped that Quiver could think of something. He couldn't do everything himself.

Quiver remained still as the last robber held a hostage at gunpoint. She lowered her bow as she tried to take a few steps forward.

Suddenly, the burst sent the two apart. Quiver was closer to the older woman so she made a dash for her before she hit the ground. She grabbed her before she hit the ground, nearly falling herself in the process.

Before the criminal could fall from Jet's punch, he was grabbed by his collar. This time, there wasn't much liveliness to him. As his partners in crime hung from trees, they moaned from the migraine they had now just received.

Since they weren't much of a threat now, Jet lowered them against the getaway car. It's not like they would be making another mad dash across the county, since Jet had also swiped the keys. Even if he hadn't, it wasn't like the man was in any condition to keep running. They would probably run into a wall, a fence, post, or any obstruction on the road.

Since his part of the job was done, he looked over to see how Quiver had fared. She had the old lady in her arms and neither of the two seemed to be in any harm. All in a day's work. Jet gave her a thumbs up and a cheery smile, as the police and paramedics began to show up on the scene.

They rushed to apprehend all the criminals and to help anyone who may have been injured, but fortunately that didn't seem to be the case this time.

Quiver gave a nod in Jet's direction. A paramedic came towards her to inspect the old woman for any injuries or signs of shock. It was then Quiver took the opportunity to step back from the situation and let the paramedic do their job.

She lingered away from police, gawkers, and anything in between. She only planned to stay a few extra minutes to see if there was more to the story. But, at the same time, she knew the press would be all over this shortly and if that was the case, she had a quick escape down the alley directly behind her.
