I Write Like

my friend told me about this website where you paste a few paragraphs of work you have written and the website will analyze who you write like.

I figured we could state what sample of writing we put in and see what comes up :)

and I got H.P. Lovecraft. I have no idea who that guy is but yeah, I apparently wrote like him with that story =p

I also did A Night at the Theater and got Vladimir Nabokov.

And FINALLY I did one of my analysis posts in the Ryuzaki thread and got Raymond Chandler. I think it's funny how I have no idea who any of these people are.

I also put in a blurb from Pride and Prejudice and out came Jane Austen just to see if it worked XD

The only glitch though is you can't put in fanfiction that is well known. All my Alice in Wonderland fanfiction came out as Lewis Carroll =/

Okay, I put in the introduction and got Dan Brown for the fanfiction.

And then...and THEN I put in a scene from the opening chapter. The part where Lee is trying to cheat off Ai. and I got Stephen King lol XD. Didn't see that one coming.

Does this place actually have any credible evidence to support their postings? I mean Stephen King is funny, but how do they base all of this off?

it says at the beginning they base it on word choice and writing style.

which is why if you write a fan-fiction it comes out inaccurate. or, at least, a famous book with a famous author.

Wow. That's... Odd.

I got Anne Rice from the first chapter my latest story, Rediscovered Scarlet Archives.

My writing must have some inconsistency or something, because I added the first few paragraphs then later another several paragraphs where I had left off and it gave me two separate authors.

i haven't tried doing that yet. i just get different authors depending on what story i put in.

why is getting Lovecraft odd?

This site seems bunk, but eh.

As for why Lovecraft is odd... He's... a very interesting writer. He writes cosmic horror, really, really weird stuff. I've only read a few excerpts from The Nameless City, but...

Oh well, it's just for fun anyway.

and that's kind of interesting about Lovecraft. maybe i should look at my stories and look at the writers i got and see if they're similar. =p

Oh well, it's still a nice little place to check out and laugh at. Sort of like TvTropes, although you can get lost in there a lot more easily.
